This is a walkthrough for the Errand, Signals of the Sun in Horizon Forbidden West. It’ll navigate you through the necessary steps to scaling the cliff and defeating the machines.

Description¶
An Oseram needs help to fend off a machine attack near an old Carja watchtower.
Objectives¶
Go to the Top of the Cliff¶
Once you’ve reached Barren Light and completed the To The Brink Main Mission, travel northwest and you’ll find Maleev trying to drag a body. Speak with him and try to gather information on the situation, then after discovering that he has no intention of helping the second person, head further north and climb up to the top of the cliff. Hold in R3 
to activate your focus and you’ll see a yellow outline for climbable surfaces. Upon reaching the top, follow the path down and you’ll find a broken bridge that’ll require you to grapple across.

Kill the Machines¶
However, before proceeding to the other side you’ll want to defeat the three Burrowers and one Scrounger. You’ll want to use Fire related Ammo against the Burrowers and aim for the Resource Container or Eye. As for the Scrounger you’ll want to use Frost and Acid Ammo and aim for the Body/Resource Container.
Talk to Oseram¶
After defeating the machines, climb up the small rock towards the back of the area and speak with Raynah.
Gather the Signal Lens¶
You’ll now need to climb up to the signal dish to the right of her, so use your grapple on the grapple point which is found on the side of the wall to reveal a hole, then jump inside and interact with another grapple point. Head through and drop down to the area below, then go around the corner and you’ll see two more grapple point you can use to pull yourself up.
Shimmy across to the broken platform on the left, then follow the path around to the right and climb up to reach the signal dish and collect the Signal Lens. Finally, drop down and give Raynah the Signal Lens to bring this Errand to a close.
