This is a walkthrough for the Relic Ruin, The Daunt in Horizon Forbidden West (HFW). It’ll navigate you through the necessary steps to finding Hotel Room Key and Door Code.

Where to find Hotel Room Door Code¶

Head south of the Chainscrape to find this Relic Ruin, then make your way inside and interact with the crate by pressing Triangle and pull it back towards the back of the room and climb up to the second floor. Ignore the door for now and follow the room around and jump across the gap, then drop down into the next room and use your Focus on the Your Red Permit Code Datapoint that can be found sitting on a broken wooden bench.

Where to find the Hotel Room Key¶

Look up to the second floor and use your Pullcaster on the crate to the left of the room and climb up to find an Ancient Supply Chest, then drop back down and use your Pullcaster on the crate towards the right of the room to pull it open. Next up, interact with the grapple point to the right of the crate to pull it down, then jump onto the first crate and climb up.

Make your way through into the next room and drop down, then interact with the grapple point on the wall to pull it open before following the underground path along to find a second grapple point that you’ll want to use to create a hole in the ground. Head back up to the floor above and use the Pullcaster to pull the crate into the hole, then drop into the hole and push the crate over to the back wall and climb up to the roof.

Drop down onto the balcony and collect the Hotel Room Key, then return to the locked door from the start of the ruin and insert it. Finally, input the code 1705 which was in the Datapoint you found earlier, then collect the The Ornament: The Daunt from inside to complete the quest.
