Incantations to Find in Crumbling Farum Azula
There are five Incantations to discover here.
Golden Lightning Fortification Incantation
Greatly increases lightning resistance for self and allies.
This is the only spell in Crumbling Farum Azula that is obtained via a Teardrop Scarab. To find it, head through the area until you reach the Dragon Temple Lift Site of Grace (this requires two Stonesword Keys to access) and follow the southern edge of the cliff around until you take your first set of stairs up. Look to the west and you can drop down to a platform below, do so again and then make your way south beyond two dogs to find the Teardrop Scarab containing the spell. Requires 24 Faith to use.
Ancient Dragons’ Lightning Spear and Ancient Dragons’ Lightning Strike Incantations
Stabs with red lightning spear from above.
Summons red lightning that spreads from impact.
Both of these Incantations can be learnt from any NPC that you can hand Prayerbooks to, the best suggestion being Miriel, Pastor of Vows due to his unique ability to teach both Sorceries and Incantations. With that in mind, you’ll be able to learn these from the same item, the Ancient Dragon Prayerbook.
To locate this item, you’ll want to head to the Tempest-Facing Balcony Site of Grace and head through the door to the southwest where you’ll spot the item in the center. You’re more likely to find this your first time through the area however, via the Crumbling Beast Grave Depths Site of Grace. Once you reach the large central room, drop to the bottom to find the item and then quickly run to the former Site of Grace to reset the enemies chasing you. With this in hand, you can purchase Ancient Dragons’ Lightning Spear for 8500 Runes and the Ancient Dragons’ Lightning Strike for 10,000 Runes. Ancient Dragons’ Lightning Spear requires 32 Faith to use while Ancient Dragons’ Lightning Strike requires 26 Faith to use.
Placidusax’s Ruin Incantation
Spews golden breath of Dragonlord Placidusax.
The final two Incantations in Crumbling Farum Azula comes from the two major bosses, one of which is optional. That would be Dragonlord Placidusax, and you can find it by exiting the elevator before the fight against Maliketh, the Black Blade, and dropping down several floating cliffs. After choosing “Lie Down” in one of the empty graves, you will be teleported into the boss arena. Beware, that battle against Dragonlord Placidusax is by far the toughest of the dragon battles (as you may expect by its name).
Once the dragon is felled, you’ll obtain the Remembrance of the Dragonlord which you should take to Enia at the Roundtable Hold where you can trade it for the Placidusax’s Ruin Incantation. Requires 36 Faith to use.
Black Blade Incantation
Black blade spinning slash that emits wave of light.
The final Incantation in Crumbling Farum Azula comes from defeating the main boss of the region, Maliketh, the Black Blade. To reach the boss arena, head through until you reach the Beside the Great Bridge Site of Grace. From here, head west out of the door and take the stairs up to the main path where you can continue southeast to the boss door. You’ll first need to defeat the Beast Clergyman in the first phase before you’ll take on Maliketh, the Black Blade himself.
Once Maliketh is defeated, you’ll obtain the Remembrance of the Black Blade which you should take to Enia at the Roundtable Hold where you can trade it for the Black Blade Incantation. Requires 46 Faith to use.
