How to Find and Complete the Stormgate in Limgrave

By
Nathan Garvin

Information and walkthrough for the Stormgate location in Elden Ring, including details about how to find a nearby Golden Seed and the Arrow’s Reach Talisman.

How to Find the Stormgate

The Stormgate is just up the road (northwest of) the Gatefront Ruins. Once you pass through the eponymous gateway, you’re there.

Best Loot in the Stormgate

Item Location
Arrow’s Reach Talisman Atop the Stormgate, in a chest. You must circle around to the cliffs south of the Stormgate to find an entrance.
Golden Seed Follow the road northwest past the Stormgate and keep an eye out for a glowing tree to the right. The Gold Seed is at the base of the tree.

How to Complete the Stormgate

Just beyond the actual Stormgate you’ll find opposition in the form of several Godrick Soldiers and a few attendant Undead Soldiers, many of which are content to pelt you with bolts from behind their barricades. If you’re just trying to pass through (say, to reach the Castleward Tunnel Site of Grace just outside of Stormveil Castle) you’ll have to run this gauntlet. Torrent is more than capable of this, just be wary of the massive Troll on the ruins far above the road. This beast will jump down to join the fray, and while this probably won’t make much of a difference if you’re mounted and galloping through, if you dismount to fight it could be a nasty surprise.

The opposition thins out further up the road, but you still need to be wary of a Godrick Soldier with a horn, who will summon allies if he’s allowed to sound the signal.

Once you’ve breached the defenses, continue riding uphill to the northwest and you’ll spot a glowing golden tree off the side of the road. At the base of this tree you’ll find a Golden Seed, as is the norm.

If you get atop the Stormgate, you can find the Arrows Reach Talismam.

Past the barricades, if you turn south you can then follow the edge of the cliffs alongside the Stormgate road southeast. This will eventually lead to the Stormhill Evergaol, where you can confront the Crucible Knight, an optional boss. You can also jump onto some ruins to the northeast to find the Troll’s ambush perch, or perhaps the Troll itself, if you managed to avoid provoking it. Be wary of Wolves near the edges of these cliffs.

Northeast of the Stormhill Evergaol you’ll find one of the Stormgate’s elevated towers, which you can enter from this approach. Patrolling the entrance is a Kaiden Sellsword, and beyond him are some stairs leading to a walkway atop the gate. Kill two more Godrick Soldiers, then loot a chest to obtain the Arrow’s Reach Talisman.
