Description

You’ll find this side job in the northwestern end of Vista Del Ray, Heywood (see map, above).

(1 of 2) Talk to the cops who are beating a corpo and stand up for what’s right… or well, what’s less wrong…

Talk to the cops who are beating a corpo and stand up for what’s right… or well, what’s less wrong… (left), and you’ll end up having to put the cops down. (right)

NCPD Intervention

Enter an alley (see map provided) to find three NCPD beat cops taking the “beat” part a bit too literally by beating a helpless corpo. No humans involved, eh? Approach the cops and they’ll initiate dialogue with you.

The first choice you make, either “What’s going on?” or “Stop it or else you’ll kill him.” doesn’t matter, unless you picked the Street Kid life path, in which case you can say:

  • [STREET KID] “Is this how you protect and serve?”
    • [STREET KID] “I’ll deal with him.”

The two Street Kid responses will get the cops to walk away, allowing you to progress to the next stage of the quest without getting your hands bloody.

If you are not on the Street Kid lifepath, your second dialogue options do matter:

  • “Leave him alone.”: Picking this will cause the cops to attack. Put them down and you’ll be able to wake up and talk to the corpo they were beating. You do not get a wanted level for killing these cops.

  • “I was just about to leave.”: V will keep their word and leave. The quest ends before it begins, but at least it’s not cluttering up your journal?

(1 of 2) If you rescued him, talk to the corpo,

If you rescued him, talk to the corpo, (left), and either let him go, or extort some eddies out of him. (right)

Talk to the Corpo

Assuming you killed or used your Streetkid credentials to talk the cops off, wake up the corpo, which will cause this quest to officially start. You’ll get a couple of dialogue options:

  • “Nothing. It’s your lucky day.”: Ends the quest. No reward.

  • [Reflexes 12] “The truth. What did they want from you?”: Advances the dialogue, leading to two more options:

    • “Go on, get outta here.”: Ends the quest. No reward.
    • [Cool 13] “Hand over your eddies.”: Extorts money from the corpo, leading to two more responses:
      • “That’ll do.”: Ends the quest.
      • [Body 12] “Give me everything you’ve got.”: Extorts more money from the corpo.
  • [Cool 11] “Eddies.”: Extorts money from the corpo, leading to two more responses:

    • “That’ll do.”: Ends the quest.
    • [Body 12] “Give me everything you’ve got.”: Extorts more money from the corpo.

Once the corpo leaves - whether you extorted him or not - the job ends.
