How to Unlock the Such Dodge, So Mega Trophy in Final Fantasy 16

By
Matt Chard

The Such Dodge, So Mega Trophy in Final Fantasy 16 requires you to perform three precision dodges while inside of Wings of Light which is Bahamut’s Feat, accessed by pressing DualSense-ButtonCircle button. Due to you needing Bahamut for this, you won’t be able to unlock the Trophy until you get the Eikon which you won’t have until you defeat it during the Fire in the Sky story quest. Read below to find out the best way to unlock the Such Dodge, So Mega Trophy in FF16.

The Such Dodge, So Mega Trophy Trophy requires you to have Bahamut to unlock it.

Best Way to Complete the Such Dodge, So Mega Trophy in FF16

You need to read the Trophy description carefully as it states “Execute a Precision Dodge three times while charging a single Megaflare”. What it doesn’t tell you is that it has to be before Megaflare reaches level 4 which is unlocked from the upgrade. That means you need to perform all three Megaflare Dodges before level 4, otherwise it won’t count.

A Megaflare Dodge is a regular Precision Dodge while under Wings of Light. Switch over to Bahamut, press the DualSense-ButtonCircle button to enter Wings of Light, and press DualSense-R1 just before the enemy attacks you, if you performed it correctly, you’ll see Megaflare Dodge appear on the right of your screen while also gaining a full charge of Megaflare on your left. This is what can make the Trophy difficult to obtain. Each successful Precision Dodge while under Wings of Light will grant you one charge level of Megaflare, so doing three of these will raise your gauge to level 3, which means you only have just under one full charge to get all three Precision Dodges before it will stop counting.

The easiest way to do this is to fight a large enemy who has a penchant for charging, something like a Gigas, Ogre, or Bighorns. Fortunately, there is a Bighorn nearby an obelisk in Three Reeds, Rosaria. Teleport to the obelisk there and turn west to look down from the cliff. You should see the Bighorn grazing there. Jump off the cliff (you won’t take damage), and head over to it. It may have been a while since you’ve fought these, so stand around and watch its attacks for a bit, so you can reacquaint yourself with them. Its easiest attacks to get a Megaflare Dodge from are its charge, stamp, or headbutt.

When you’re ready, go into Wings of Light, and activate dodge when the Bighorn closes in on you, just before it reaches you with its charge attack. If it does the headbutt (small charge), dodge when its head motions toward you, and if it’s the stamp attack, dodge as it’s coming down. For you to get the Trophy, you’ll need to dodge all of its first three attacks otherwise, you’ll hit level 4 which means Megaflare is no longer charging, and it won’t count. If you fail any of the attacks, you can either come out of Wings of Light and let the gauge slowly deplete, use Megaflare to reset it, but it will have a short cooldown, or the best method, teleport back to Three Reeds, and fight it again. You may want to try dodging its attacks without Wings of Light for a few minutes until you get the timing down before trying to get the Megaflare Dodge. Just remember that Megaflare MUST be charging for it to count.
