Here you’ll find a person named Yvan and they’ll request you find some ingredients for an ancient recipe. How to Start the A Culinary Pilgrimage Side Quest in FF16

First things first, you’ll need to have completed the main story mission Black or White, and be on the Here Be Monsters. When those requirements have been met, head over to Yvan in The Ale Hall and he’ll ask you for a favor. He’ll mention that he borrowed the Valisthea - A Culinary Pilgrimage Book and has found a recipe he’ll like to bring back, Chancer’s Stew. However, the only clue for the location of the secret ingredient leads to Rosaria.

Where to Find Unwonted Violets in Final Fantasy 16

After you’ve finished speaking with Yvan, fast travel to Martha’s Rest in The Imperial Province of Rosarisa and speak with Flesher who can be found at one of the stalls to the west of the area. Here you’ll learn that the Unwonted Violets can be obtained by defeating Scorpions, so you’ll want to make your way over to Three Reed Sub-Region which is located to the southwest of Martha’s Rest, then you’ll want to head to the northeast corner to find multiple scorpions.

These are regular enemies, so they shouldn’t cause you too much trouble, but the easiest way to take them down is by grouping them up and using any AoE Abilities, such as Aerial Blast or Flames of Rebirth. After you’ve obtained the Unwonted Violets you’ll want to return to the Hideaway. However, before you do so, be sure to explore the surrounding areas for Chests, as these can contain useful Accessories. Once you’ve returned to the Hideaway, speak with Yvan to bring the quest to a close and you’ll be rewarded with the Badge of Mettle +1 Accessory which increases your defense by 30.
