Not too long ago, you should’ve visited here to help the Ultra Recon Squad catch some stray Ultra Beasts. By the way, if you failed to catch one or both of the Ultra Beasts, they will continue to appear in the tall grass until you’ve caught them all. You can tell if an Ultra Beast is still available if the field music is unnaturally tense.

Anyway, from the entrance, head east through the tall grass to find a Max Potion in a small space that’s devoid of grass. Next, make your way north, towards a martial artist who’s practicing punching, while changing direction from time to time. To his west, near the corner, is a X Sp. Atk that you can grab.

Black Belt Roy

Pokémon Level Type
"Mienshao" IconMienshao 56 Fighting

"Mienshao" IconMienshao is an evolved "Mienfoo" IconMienfoo that has high Attack and Speed, but relatively poor bulk. This one can use Hi Jump Kick for hard-hitting STAB, U-turn to damage Psychic-types, and Bounce to surprise other Types and send it into the air for one turn. Flying or Fairy-types are excellent choices.

Moving on, travel east from Roy, through the remainder of the tall grass. On the other side is a path with multiple patches of tall grass, which leads further east. After the path bends south and continues east again, watch out for a trainer slowly walking side to side, occasionally stopping to survey the area.

Ace Trainer Jackson

Pokémon Level Type
"Huntail" IconHuntail 56 Water
"Marowak" IconMarowak (Alolan) 56 Fire/Ghost
"Braviary" IconBraviary 57 Normal/Flying

"Huntail" IconHuntail is an evolved "Clamperl" IconClamperl via the Deep Sea Tooth. Stat-wise, it has good Attack and Defense, but is slow from living on the sea floor. It can use Hydro Pump and Aqua Tail for STAB, Crunch to hurt Psychics and Ghosts, and Coil to up its stats. Naturally, Grass-types are ideal, and Electric-types can also get the job done.

It may have been a while since you encountered an Alolan "Marowak" IconMarowak. This fiery spirit has high Defense, but poor Speed. For attacks, it can use Flare Blitz to deal powerful STAB damage, Stomping Tantrum to pester Rock-types, and Endeavor to make your Pokémon have the same HP. Water, Ground or Dark-types are recommended.

Finally, "Braviary" IconBraviary is an evolved "Rufflet" IconRufflet (found in Ultra Sun) that has stellar Attack and decent HP. It can use Crush Claw for Normal-type STAB, Sky Drop to lift up lightweight opponents into the air, and Whirlwind to force a switch out. Rock-types are ideal, while Ice and Electric-types will also be effective.

Past Jackson is the entrance to the next area–Poni Plains–towards the north.
