By now you should be used to the checkpoint jumps. You should not need to use precision view until you get near to the mountainside but even then, it is not necessary unless you want to. Ordinarily it is better not to enter precision mode because you need to descend fairly fast to reach the checkpoints.
As you reach the landing zone you may be going at quite a speed so just slow up a little before you hit.
Make sure you are straight down the middle for the landing or you could veer into the mountains or the river. It is a narrow landing zone so try to get as close as you can.
