To get ahead of your opponents, rush at full speed to the first big turn. Cut inside it, through the bridge supports (careful not to hit those) and steam full speed ahead until you approach the freighter. Slow up a little as you will be about to turn sharply to the right. You will be coming back the way you came so keep the speed even here.
After that, you will be speeding along between various bridge supports so do your best to avoid those while keeping your speed up. Avoid sharp turns here or you will smack right into the supports.
Most of this course is about avoiding the supports scattered around the waterways. The course itself is fairly straightforward so focus on not hitting things!
The last bit comprises of another roundabout turn back into the canal proper. When you get on the final straight, use the full throttle and speed to the finish.
