Best Perrserker Tera Raid Build

By
Ben Chard

Having a "Perrserker" IconPerrserker raid build handy is going to pay off wherever an Attack focused Steel-type is needed. Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is out now and Tera Raids are a large part of the online component of the game. There are certain Pokémon that are perfect for Tera Raids and this Perrserker raid build is one of them.

Perrserker is very useful for Tera Raids.

If you’ve been delving into the world of Tera Raids and have reached the point of taking on the challenging 5 and 6 Star Tera Raids, you may realize just how much more strategy comes into play. More importantly, you may notice that clearing these Offline with the AI is incredibly challenging, to the point of almost impossible. Even Online can be challenging if your teammates choose Pokémon that are not ideal, which is why we want to share our Perrserker raid build.

This Perrserker raid build, tested by the excellent Pokémon community, is especially useful for most Tera Raids.

How to Catch A Perrserker raid build

In terms of Pokémon that are useful for Tera Raids, a Perrserker raid build requires a bit more work to actually obtain than the other alternatives. That’s because the only way to get one is by evolving the Galarian "Meowth" IconMeowth that you can only obtain via a quest.

That quest is Salvatore’s Bonding quest, and you can begin it by first completing all of Salvatore’s Languages Classes to begin building your friendship with him. After this, you’ll need to have four conversations with him in the following places:

  • In the Staff Room at Naranja/Uva Academy
  • At the Schoolyard (bring a standard "Potion" iconPotion with you)
  • The Biology Lab
  • In the Staff Room, where he’ll give you the Galarian Meowth

Once you have your Galarian Meowth, the evolution method itself is simple. Just take your Meowth into battle (or use Exp. Candies) and reach Level 28, at which point it will evolve into Perrserker. Then trainers can get to work on making our very own Perrserker raid build.

Simply get Galarian Meowth to Level 28 to evolve it into Perrserker.

Perrserker Raid Build

The purpose of this build is a more general-purpose build to be used in 5 and 6 Star Tera Raids but is also very useful for other event Tera Raids that are available from time-to-time. This build makes use of the "Iron Head" iconIron Head move with a focus on Atk.

You’ll want your Perrserker raid build to have the following:

Tera Nature EV Focus Ability Moveset Held Item
Steel Adamant HP and Atk Steely Spirit "Iron Head" iconIron Head, Screech, "Taunt" iconTaunt, "Helping Hand" iconHelping Hand "Metal Coat" iconMetal Coat

Once you have your Perrserker, the first thing you’ll want to do is change the nature to Adamant, this is done by purchasing a "Adamant Mint" iconAdamant Mint from Chansey Supply and then using it in your inventory. This will grant your Perrserker an increase of Atk at the expense of Sp. Atk.

You’ll want to ensure you Hyper Train your Perrserker raid build, with a focus on HP (for survivability) and Atk (to make better use of "Iron" iconIron Head) along with ideally having Perrserker as high as level as possible (Level 100 being ideal).

You’ll need your Perserker to have the Steely Spirit Ability, this increases the damage of Steel-type moves by 50%, which is what Iron Head is. The good news is, Steely Spirit is Perrserker’s Hidden Ability, the bad news is, it’s a Hidden Ability. This means, to unlock it, you’ll need to get your hands on an Ability Patch and these are only available as a rare reward from 6 Star Tera Raids.

For your Held Item, you’ll want to give the Perrserker raid build the "Metal Coat" iconMetal Coat, as this will boost the power of Steel-type moves further, really allowing Iron Head to pack a punch!

The final part of the build are the moves you’ll be using. Thankfully, this is very easy with Perrserker as it learns "Taunt" iconTaunt at Level 20, Iron Head at Level 28, and Screech at Level 36. This leaves you with just "Helping Hand" iconHelping Hand to source, and you can teach this with a TM. You can find this in several areas throughout Paldea but one of the easiest is just outside the Pokémon Center in South Province Area Three.

Perrserker Riad Build Strategy

So now that you have your perfect Perrserker raid build trained, how do you put all of this into action in a Tera Raid situation?

To begin with, it depends on what role you wish to play in the battle. If you’re playing the role as a Support alongside other Perrserker’s. Taunt will make it so your opponent can only use moves that deal damage, Helping Hand will increase the damage of your partners in the battle while Screech will lower the opponent’s Defense by two stages.

Once you and your team have successfully debuffed your target, Iron Head will most likely one-shot them, or close to it.
