The key in learning how to beat Klawf, the Stony Cliff Titan is making sure Pokémon are at least Level 17. Klawf is a Rock type, so you’ll ideally want to bring along Grass or Water Pokémon due to these being Klawfs biggest weaknesses, so if you picked Sprigatito or Quaxly, they’ll be great candidates here. Additionally, you can use Ice , Fighting , Ground , Steel in this battle, as Klawf is still weak to these elements but just not as much as Grass or Water ,

Best Strategies for Klawf, the Stony Cliff Titan
You’ll end up fighting Klawf, the Stony Cliff Titan twice, although there’s a brief pause in-between the two fights, if you need to rest etc. If you’ve selected any of the Pokémon mentioned above, then some of these attacks will be useful for the upcoming battle. Water Gun, Arm Thrust, Leech Seed or Razor Leaf and Sleep Powder.
For attacks Klawf can use Vise Grip which can deal decent damage to your Pokémon depending on your level. which will cause Speed Down on your Pokémon, so it could increase the chance of Klawf being able to take it’s turn before you. Once you take Klawfs health below 50% it will activate the ability “Anger Shell” which will increase its Attack, Sp. Atk and Speed but at the cost of lowering its defense. Next up, Klawf can perform Rock Smash will lower your defense which means your Pokémon will take more damage from regular attacks.
Once you’ve taken Klawfs health down into the red it’ll flee and you’ll need to find it in order to complete the battle. Simply, walk down the hill you took to reach him the first time and you’ll see it waiting at the bottom. During this phase Klawf will be buffed after chowing down on a Herba Mystica, but dont worry too much as Arven will be fighting alongside you this time with which is a Water type. Shellder will use Leer against Klwarf to lower its defense and its Water Gun which will deal a lot of damage due to it hitting its elemental weakness.
All of Klawfs attacks in phase two are the same as phase one, but can just deal more damage, so you’ll want to make sure your Pokémons HP is topped up. The only real difference between these phases is that Klawfs will use Anger Shell again to increase its overall stats, but at the cost of lowering his sp. defense and regular defense.
After the Battle
Upon defeating Klawf and completing the Rock Titan you’ll gain access to Dash which is a new travel ability. This can be used by pressing button on the joycons or pro controller to hop onto Miraidon or Koraidon, then press in the to dash. This will allow you get through areas quicker, but be careful of nearby Pokémon or Trees as hitting them will initiate a battle.
