Bellibolt was one of the first Paldean Pokémon revealed on the run up to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, so it’s only fitting we do a best Bellibolt Tera Raid build guide for it. It’s a pure electric type although is based on a Frog, but it’s also one of the best single typed Pokémon to use during Black Star Tera Raid battles. Let’s break down how to get Bellibolt and turn it into a charged beast that has the potential to one-shot the right opponent in our best Bellibolt Tera Raid build.

Best Bellibolt Tera Raid Build

The best Bellibolt Tera Raid build is going to come in handy when fighting any physical attacking Water Water and Flying Flying types in any kind of Tera Raid. The below build will work great against Decidueye The Unrivaled in it’s very own Black Crystal 7 Star Tera Raid events for example. Our best Bellibolt Tera Raid build focuses on lowering special defense then using it’s ability to buff up a certain special attack move that also heals. Cool right? This Bellibolt Tera Raid build has genuine potential to make quick work of the right opponent, but we need to catch one first.

Bellibolt is a powerful electric type Pokémon when used correctly. It’s also one of the best Pokémon designs in years.

How To Catch A Bellibolt

The easiest way to get a Bellibolt is to evolve a Tadbulb by using a "Thunder Stone" iconThunder Stone. However this would also require using an ability capsule if its not right and Mints to change it’s nature if needed. If all of these items are on hand and trainers are willing to get Bellibolt to level 100 through battles, catching other Pokémon or candies then go for it.

We would recommend heading over to Casseroya Lake and find the cresent moon-shaped Island to find a level 55 Water Water Tera Type Bellibolt instead. It’ll take less time and resources to level up and comes with the right ability, Electromorposis. It allows Bellibolt to take damage one turn to power up Electric Electric type moves on the next turn, which is the key to our best Bellibolt Tera Raid build.

(1 of 5) Trainers can simply evolve Tadbulb but will need lots of resources to build our best Bellibolt Tera Raid.

Bellibolts Moveset And Stats

Tera Nature EV Focus Ability Moveset Held Item
Water Water/Electric Electric Modest HP and Sp. Atk Electromorphosis Parabolic "Charge" iconCharge, "Acid Spray" iconAcid Spray, "Electric Terrain" iconElectric Terrain and "Thunderbolt" iconThunderbolt "Leftovers" iconLeftovers

After getting a Bellibolt sorted, the first thing trainers need to do is to have it learn Parabolic "Charge" iconCharge. This move is the second half of the overall strategy with this build as it deals Electric Electric-type special damage whilst healing the user by half the damage dealt. Combining this with the Electromorphosis ability allows users to deal double damage and also double up their HP regain turn after turn providing Bellibolt is slower than the opponent.

Trainers will need a "Mirror Herb" iconMirror Herb and a Deddenne that knows Parabolic Charge. It learns the move at level 25 and must know it before going ahead, find one in the North Province, Area Three or in the West Province, Area Three. Make sure both Pokémon are in a trainers party and that Bellibolt has an empty move slot ready to learn a move. Start a picnic, wait five minutes and pack up the picnic, Bellibolt should now know the move Parabolic Charge.

(1 of 2) Have a Picnic with Dedenne that knows Parabolic Charge, and Bellibolt with a move slot free holding a Mirror Herb to copy the essential move over.

Next up is "Acid Spray" iconAcid Spray, which lowers a targets special defense stat to make way for the utter electrical destruction waiting behind that static gut. This needs to be learnt via TM, which can be found in the following locations:

Trainer can also by craft Acid Spray at a TM machine for 800 league points by using the following materials:

"Electric Terrain" iconElectric Terrain is a status move that powers up Electric Electric moves, further powering up the effects of our Parabolic Charge strategy nicely. The final move slot is up to trainers depending on circumstances, but here are three solid options:

  • "Thunderbolt" iconThunderbolt: Deals more damage than Parabolic Charge for when Bellibolt doesn’t need healing.
  • "Reflect" iconReflect: Cut physical damage attacks in half for three turns.
  • "Light Screen" iconLight Screen: Cut special damage in half for three turns.

Every choice is a viable one, but choose carefully depending on opponent. In the case of "Decidueye" IconDecidueye The Unrivaled, for example, Reflect would be a good choice and Parabolic Charge’s damage will be doubled by Electromorphisis anyway and will keep Bellibolt in the game for longer. Don’t worry to much about Bellibolts Tera Typing as the time used to transform and execute moves in raids can be used to carry this strategy out.

To boost Bellibolts special attack stat further, we would recommend a modest nature for this build. It does however reduce its attack stat, which we don’t need. Players can buy "Modest Mint" iconModest Mints from Chansey Supply shops located in four different Paldean towns. EV training should focus on HP and Special Attack with IVs being focus on all but speed. Making Bellibolt as slow as possible ensures that the Electromophosis ability works every time. Make it hold a leftovers to make sure HP is being replenished in short bursts as Acid Spray lowers an opponents defense at the start of a battle.
