"Rare Candy" iconRare Candy is probably one of the most legendary items for longtime Pokémon trainers. In the original generation of titles (Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow ), there was a glitch called Missing No that would allow players to multiply items in their bags, and naturally everyone went for Rare Candy. These days, Rare Candy is a rarer commodity and levels up Pokémon as they would by leveling up naturally. They’re also the inspiration for Exp. Candy (XL) and its variations introduced in the generation one remake Let’s GO "Pikachu" IconPikachu and "Eevee" IconEevee.

Trivia aside, having a handful of Rare Candy on-hand comes in, well, handy! Unlike Exp. Candies, Rare Candy only levels up a Pokémon to the closest level. This means using a Rare Candy just as a Pokémon is about to level up will only provide the necessary experience to hit said level with no experience carrying over.

Rare Candy Locations

We’ve been hard at work finding Rare Candy to help trainers build up their Pokémon throughout Paldea. As such we’ve marked said locations down on our interactive map alongside a screenshot of the location. Rare Candy can also be earned by participating in Five and Six-Star Tera Raids, although this is never guaranteed. Exp. Candy is guaranteed however, so make sure to farm as many high level Tera Raid battles as possible to level up Pokémon teams fast. See the table below for all found Rare Candy locations and their corresponding map links.
