Hogwarts Legacy gives you the full wizarding personality test, with houses and wands to choose from, and a character creator too. When it comes to the wand, there are ample options to choose from, which all affect the vanity and appearance of your wand in the game’s combat, cutscenes and more. Here’s a closer look at how the Hogwarts Legacy wands feature works, and explain what’s the fuss about the wand quiz too.
Hogwarts Legacy Wand Customization and Creation
At the start of the game, your character will go through a few ceremonies to get into the game,. You will go through the sorting out to determine and choose your house. After that, you will need to pay a visit to Olivander, the famous wand maker. Here, you will get your hands on your open wand.
When you get to this stage of the game, you will be able to choose various options for your wand. The general theme of the wand customization and creation in Hogwarts Legacy is that you edit a few areas:
|Wand Style||Shape and color|
|Wood Type||Material choices, length and size modifications, and flexibility|
|Wood Core||The source of the magic in the wand|
The Wand Style is simply the shape of the wand, and the color of the material that you can get. These come in a few shapes and sizes, with each option having three different colors you can get. This is where you will make the most noticeable of the visual styles of your wand.
Meanwhile, the Wood Type options reflect the material of wood being used, with there being 38 different types of wood to choose from. This doesn’t visually affect the wand all too much, but, there are lore reasons why you may want to select certain woods. Harry Potter fans can geek out about this section the most. You then get to edit the size of the wand, with the options being between nine and a half inches, to fourteen and a half inches. The options increase by a quarter of an inch between these two points. Finally, you have the flexibility, which largely just affects the animations and how sturdy or bendy it is when you fling it around when casting spells.
Lastly, you have the Wand Core options. The three you get to choose from are Dragon Heartstring, Unicorn Hair, and Phoenix Feather. This, once again, doesn’t really affect the appearance or gameplay of the wand, as you unlock spells via assignments and other quests in the game. Instead, it’s a nod to the lore of Harry Potter, something which superfans can geek out on for their character and playthrough ambitions. Once you’ve messed around with your wand and have settled, you can confirm your wand’s aesthetic and then proceed with the game.
Hogwarts Legacy Wand Quiz
For those unaware, there is a Hogwarts Legacy Want Quiz over on the Wizarding World website. You can do a quiz to determine your House, Patronus, and Wand if you want to. When you’ve done all three, and linked your Warner Brothers game account to the Wizarding World account, then you will be able to get the wand the quiz gave you in game. However, if you are not a fan of it, you can still complete the Hogwarts Legacy Wand Creation Ceremony as normal. For example, we got the 10 ¾“ Beech wood with a unicorn core. When we get into game, we can have that as our wand, but then change it if we are not happy with it. There are also plenty of Wizarding world wand quiz cheats out there if you want to generate the wand perfect for you.
Oh, and before we forget, you can get exclusive rewards if you complete all the Wizarding World quizzes and successfully link your Warner Brothers account with it. Players may get the House Fan-atic School Robe and a Beaked Skull Mask, amongst other rewards for Wizarding World too. You can learn more about this by visiting the Wizarding World Hogwarts Legacy page.
