This page offers a guide on how to complete the Birds of a Feather side quest, including how to find and catch Gwyneira, the Albino Diricawl.
How to Start Birds of a Feather
This quest can be picked up by speaking to Marianne Moffett in Marunweem. She will ask you to help her catch and “rescue” a rare albino Diricawl found in a nearby Diricawl den. She wants to rescue it so she can use its plumes to fashion the trendiest clothing around. You can suggest that Gwyneira would be safer in your vivarium but she’s not having any of it! After speaking with her, you’ll need to head to the Beast Den west of Marunweem.
How to Catch Gwyneira
Once you’ve reached the Diricawl Den found around 700m west of Marunweem, you’ll need to ensure that its night time in order to spawn in Gwyneira. You can pass the time by opening up your map and opting to rest until night time.
There are several Diricawls in this area, but you should be able to spot Gwyneira pretty quickly as she’s stark white and when you lock your focus onto her, it’ll show her name above.
Gwyneira is not too tricky to catch but you can use spells like Arresto Momentum to freeze her for a few moments, allowing you to catch her with your nab-sack more easily.
Should you Keep Gwyneira?
Once you’ve caught Gwyneira, return to Marunweem and speak to Marianne Moffett. Here you’ll get the choice to give her Gwyneira, or keep her for yourself. Honestly, we would typically recommend keeping the quest giver happy, but in this case, Marianne’s intentions with Gwyneira aren’t wholly good - so we decided to keep the Diricawl! If you choose this option, Marianne will be very angry with you but you’ll now have a unique albino Diricawl to place in your vivarium.
If you do choose to give her the Diricawl, you’ll get 300 Gold (or you can bribe her for more by choosing the option “it’ll cost you”). Regardless of your choice, you’ll also get the Debonair Socialite clothing cosmetic and +180 XP.
