There are several side quests that you will be picking up from Deek, who spends his time looking after your Room of Requirements. Each quest helps unlock or get you closer to unlocking new features, beasts, and Vivariums, so doing them is a must. The guide below goes over how to complete the first Deek side quest, Plight of The House Elf in Hogwarts Legacy.
How to Start Plight of The House Elf in Hogwarts Legacy¶
Once you complete the main story quest, The Elf, the Nab-Sack, and the Loom. Once this is done, you can speak with Deek in the Room of Requirements to start a brand new quest. This time though, the quest will be more focused on giving you a backstory about the house elf instead of just teaching you about beasts. You will need to do this quest to unlock Foal of The Dead so that you can breed beasts in your Vivarium.
Plight of The House Elf Walkthrough¶
This isn’t a complex mission. Once you speak with Deek, he will ask you to check on another house elf named Tobbs. Tobbs is forced to work in a spider-infested cave at the edge of the , just across the field from . Once you get to Spinners Cave go inside. For the most part, you are going to be taking a very linear path. You will need fire spells like and to set the giant cobwebs blocking the various passageways on fire.
This cave is full of spiders, so setting them on fire is a good strategy, in addition, be sure to make use of spells like , , and to hold them in place without getting overwhelmed. You can also hit them with rocks in various places to help deal some quick extra damage. Be sure to take out the baby spiders as well, as they are quite fast and can deal an annoying amount of damage to you.
When progressing through this area, remember that you will need to jump across caps. There are no extra spells that you need to cross these gaps. Once you have spent around 10 to 15 minutes in the cave, you will come upon a large room with an . Defeat this large spider and proceed onward to find Tobbs. Below him, there is a path that easily leads out of the cave. Follow it and report your findings back to Deek.
