‘Beeting’ a curse isn’t what Witches and Wizards will expect from a standard side quest, and we’re not discussing the tasks at hand. It turns out Samantha Dale’s brother, William, had his feet turned into Beets for stealing a relic from a tomb. Yeah, wasn’t expecting that, right? Well, at least Witches and Wizards can take comfort in reading one of the wittiest side quest names in Hogwarts Legacy, ‘Beeting’ A Curse.

‘Beeting’ A Curse

Marmadukes Crest seems to hold a curse that affects the holder, with Samantha Dale thinking that returning it will break the curse and return William to normal. But Samantha needs someone to place Marmaduke’s crest back on the sarcophagus in her family tomb and thinks our Witch or Wizard is up for the job.

(1 of 3) Head to the Greenhouse Floo Flame to find Samantha Dale, the quest giver for this.

After the performance in "Hogsmeade" iconHogsmeade with the Troll, word has gone around that our Protagonist is suitable for a favor. The tomb seems abandoned for years, with Samantha thinking it should be a reasonably simple task. After receiving the “Crest of Marmaduke Gilbertus Dale,” let’s get to it.

It’s a fair way to Dales Tomb, located on the east side of "Hogwarts Valley" iconHogwarts Valley. The ‘Beeting’ A Curse side quest will drop a marker on the field guide map for players to follow, so it shouldn’t be hard to track down. On arrival, head straight down the cave hallway and take the first left to find a chest containing Frameless Tinted Spectacles.

(1 of 3) Head inside the Dale Family Tomb to find Marmaduke’s Sarcophagus.

The right-hand side has a destructible rubble wall, or players can carry on down the corridor to reach many deadly black vines named Devil’s Snare. Don’t go near it; it’ll be an instant death for Witches and Wizards. Use Luminose to fight back the Devil’s Snare and pass it down into the tomb. A slip down a rubble hill will land players in a Riparian Troll den, an Infamous Foe; so much for Dale’s Tomb being safe.

Make sure to dodge and use the old "Protego" iconProtego and projectile combination when necessary. Building up the combos will also increase a player’s "Ancient Magic" iconAncient Magic meter, taking a solid chunk out of the Riparian Trolls health bar. Don’t bother with "Revelio" iconRevelio in this Troll den; there’s nothing to find.

(1 of 4) Head down the lamp-lit opening to find Marmaduke’s Sarcophagus.

Heading southeast, however, will bring Witches and Wizards to Marmaduke Sarcophagus, where players can hopefully place the Crest of Marmaduke Gilbertus Dale back in place to cure William. Make sure to pick up the Dittany leaves and check the bag for a loosened crimson lock scarf before leaving.

Then it’s just a case of returning to Samantha Dale to deliver the good news, but remember to keep using Revelio on the way out to pick up some goodies. It’s straightforward to get out; just follow the white map marker laid out for Witches and Wizards. As Witches and Wizards get back to Samantha Dale, the good news has already reached her that Williams’s beet feet are gone. A Totem will be added to a Wizards and Witches collection alongside 180 XP as the quest completes.
