Following your discovery in the restricted section under the library you’ll have no choice but to spend some time living out life as a student at Hogwarts. After a clandestine meeting with Professor Fig and some unrelated errands, you’ll attend two more classes before a lead serendipitously materalizes. The exact nature of this lead varies depending on which house you were sorted into at the beginning of the game, and this page will cover the Ravenclaw exclusive main quest Ollivander’s Heirloom in Hogwarts Legacy, including information on finding all five Jackdaw Statues in the Hogwarts Owlery.
How to Start Ollivander’s Heirloom in Hogwarts Legacy
After you complete the main quest Secrets of the Restricted Section you’ll start up a new round of main quests - progress through Tomes and Tribulations, The Girl From Uagadou and Trials of Merlin, after which this Ravenclaw exclusive main quest should begin. If it doesn’t, consider continuing on with Herbology Class and Potions Class, if for no other reason than to burn some time and give this quest a chance to start. Eventually you should get an Owl Post from Gerbold Ollivander asking you to meet him in his shop in Hogsmeade.
Again, this quest is exclusive to Ravenclaw students - Gryffindor students will instead be able to start the main quest The Hunt for the Missing Pages, Hufflepuff students can begin [Prisoner of Love] and Slytherin students can start [Scrope’s Last Hope].
Where to Find All the Jackdaw Statues in the Owlery
Fast travel to Hogsmeade, enter Ollivanders and talk to the proprietor. Long story short, your successful retrieval during Secrets of the Restricted Section earned some unrestrained praise from Professor Fig, and Gerbold Ollivander wants to put your apparently proven knack for acquiring missing artifacts to use tracking down a stolen wand.
After agreeing to help you’ll be directed to the Hogwarts Owlery, which can be found west, southwest of the school proper. Climb to hill to reach the tower, then head inside and ascend a spiral staircase to reach the business end of the Owlery, where numerous owl perches can be found lining the wall. Some of these perches are sealed, and you’ll need to use the Accio spell to pull them open, spilling their contents. You’re looking for Jackdaw Statues which some of the coffers contain, which you’ll need to pick up once expelled from their coffers and place them on some perches to the northeast. There are three Jackdaw Statues on the first floor, but you should be sure to open all the coffers (use Revellio if you’re having trouble spotting them) as they can also yield gold. Once you have found three Jackdaw Statues, climb the ladder to reach a higher floor where more coffers await, then circle the hole in the floor and pull open all the coffers to uncover another pair of Jackdaw Statues, then climb back down, pick the statues up, and place them in the northeastern wall.
Solve Jackdaw’s puzzle and you’ll find yourself speaking with the deceased prankster, who at length will ask you to meet him in the Forbidden Forest. He’s no longer in possession of the wand Ollivander seeks, nor the pages you require, but he’s willing to guide you to them. If, you know, a little beheading doesn’t bother you. The next main quest, Jackdaw’s Rest will now begin.
