Xenoblade Chronicles 3

Ascension Quest: Culinary Repertoire

By
Vincent Lau

This is a guide for Riku & Manana’s Ascension Quest “Culinary Repertoire” in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

After unlocking a Hero, once you’ve reached Rank 10 for their class with one of your characters (excluding the Hero themselves), you can begin their Ascension Quest to unlock Rank 20 for that class.

The conditions for the Ascension Quest can be viewed in the Hero’s profile, under System - Hero Roster. However, some of them are fairly vague and/or have multiple hidden steps.

How to Start the “Culinary Repertoire” Quest

(1 of 2) A quest-related marker will appear at the Inlet Camp.

Before this quest can appear, you must have obtained Rank 10 for the Yumsmith class for Sena.

Next, add Riku & Manana to your battle party.

Now head for the Inlet Camp in the Cadensia Region. It’s inside a cove south from the big floating Agnus Castle. If you’ve gone past the halfway point of Chapter 5, you’ve probably been there before.

If you met the conditions, a quest-related icon will appear next to the camp, triggering the quest.

How to Complete the “Culinary Repertoire” Quest

Step 1. Find Tempapa at Daedal Island

(1 of 2) Tempapa has run into some trouble.

Having started the quest, head to Daedal Island, which is the big island north from Vinisog Holm. If you’ve already been, fast-travel to the Eternal Canopy landmark. From there, ride the zip-line towards the center of the island, where the Level 70+ foes are.

North of where the zip-line ends, you should run into a Nopon under attack from four Level 52 Daedal Krustip enemies. Bash them up good and the Nopon, Tempapa, will–after some convincing–agree to taste-test one of Manana’s meals.

Step 2. Cook a Cerise-Caprice Acqua Pazza

(1 of 2) You can yonk the recipe from the Michiba Canteen.

To pass his test, feed him a Cerise-Caprice Acqua Pazza, obtained by dining at the Michiba Canteen in the City. If you need ingredients:

Item Location
Refreshing Piranhax Meat Dropped by Onogoro Piranhax in the Great Cotte Falls, Pentelas Region.
Whisper Tomato Collectible in the Cadensia Region.
"Bizarrenacle" iconBizarrenacle Collectible in the Cadensia Region.
Ring Guava Collectible in the Cadensia Region, City Traderpon.
"Metamorphosage" iconMetamorphosage Collectible in Swordmarch, City Traderpon.

Step 3. Follow Tempapa to his house

Surprise Tempapa and he’ll lead you to his house. Follow him as he runs, taking care not to get too close to the higher level enemies. Such as the Wannock Gogol in the middle of the path.

Near the north side of the island, after passing through a gap, you’ll arrive at Tempapa’s humble abode.

Step 4. Bring Tempapa the requested items

(1 of 2) Mammon Quarmu are the female sabertooth seals found in Erythia Sea. Quardun are the male ones.

Now the Nopon will ask you to bring him four things:

Item Location
"Lagoonite" iconLagoonite x5 Collectible from the Cadensia region.
Wyrdstone x2 Collectible from the Cadensia region.
Acid-Resistant Quarmu Shell x3 Dropped by Mammon Quarmu, found in Erythia Sea. Try the area south/south-east from Vinisog Holm.
Samon’s Thing Speak to Samon at his workshop in the City, at the Mxene Tech Quarter, near Michiba Canteen.

Once you’ve gathered everything, return to Tempapa at his house on Daedal Island, following the same route as before, more or less. This will complete the quest, unlocking Rank 20 for the Yumsmith class.
