Beyond Mercy and Revenge

By
Jarrod Garripoli

This is a guide for the Beyond Mercy and Revenge Standard Quest in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

How to Start the Beyond Mercy and Revenge Standard Quest

You only need to get this single piece of Info for this quest

Once you reach Chapter 6, you will be able to do this quest, provided you have already completed Charity and Hypocrisy and Tactical Eradication. You might also need to complete other sidequests from Colony 4, so if the Info isn’t appearing, then go ahead and do those, too. Just north of the vendors in Colony 4, you should see some soldiers with the familiar Info bubble. Listen in to get the Colony 4 Revitalized Info, then discuss it to receive the quest.

How to Complete the Beyond Mercy and Revenge Standard Quest

The party heard that Colony 4 managed to get their hands on some high-quality meat recently and wants to try some. Speak with Laszlo to get a taste of the Armu meat, but things go awry not long after finishing the meal, as your party gets sick from it. Speak with Oleshandra after waking up to learn that your food had been poisoned. Naturally, you think Laszlo did this, who is being questioned by Bolearis at Colony 4 Command. Fast travel to the top of the Ferronis and enter the Command for a scene, with the party offering to investigate the poisoning.

Jeremy is the culprit who poisoned you

You will need to talk with three people to gather some info, all of whom will be fairly close to the canteen. There will be Oleshandra, Kukucha, and Solon, with you getting The Poisoner Info after speaking to the three of them. Discuss this at a rest spot to get a guess going as to who actually did this. Naturally, the ill-mannered guy from the tactician squad is the true culprit, which is Jeremy. Go back to Command speak with Laszlo, telling him of your findings. You will need to find out the location of Jeremy, so ask his supervisor, Maxie. He will be on the second floor of the Ferronis, which is easily reached via the Colony 4 Ferronis Hatch landmark.

Jeremy is out on a patrol with Yorde in the Dannagh Desert. He will be east and a little south of Raptor Perch. As you approach the marker, you will find Yorde on the ground, who was struck by Jeremy when he saw your party coming. You will need to follow Jeremy’s footprints, which will lead you north, where you find Jeremy being attacked by some monsters. You will have five level 48 Hedred Scorpoxes and a level 50 Ribeega Scorpox. The multiple Hedred Scorpoxes are all just normal enemies and should be taken out first, since they are easier to kill. The Ribeega Scorpox just seems to be a slightly stronger version of the normal ones.

(1 of 2) Take care of the smaller enemies first

Take care of the smaller enemies first (left), then you can concentrate on the bigger one (right)

Just be aware that its Bewitching skill will allow it to evade your attacks while it’s active. After defeating all of the enemies, there will be a scene and the quest will end.
