Chapter 1: The Wind Crystal

Chapter 1: The Wind Crystal

Ancheim

Upon landing by the pier, you’ll arrive in the desert nation of Ancheim, site of the Wind Crystal. When you regain control, the game will key you in on the " Update Data " feature. If you haven’t already used it, you can retrieve data from the internet by going to "Update Data" from the save menu.

Once per day, you can receive guest summons, residents and nemeses for Norende, plus update your friends’ data while you’re there. Those struggling to get StreetPass tags will want to update data daily to build their Norende population and get those special moves and rare items!

A new land means many new adventures. We hope you're excited!

In any case, after your long air voyage, it might be wise to locate the nearest town to rest. Head south from the pier and you’ll soon come across Ancheim, Land of Sand and Time; you’ll need to navigate to the front of the city, around the craggy peaks, to enter.

Land of Sand and Time

Inside the city, make your way right to the orange exclamation mark, where Ancheim’s royal palace lies. In front of the palace, King Khamer VIII begins making a royal speech to the gathered crowd. Once his drab speech is over, go inside the palace, where the king offers no kind words to Agnes.

With the drama out of the way, it’s time to get trekking again. As soon as you exit the palace, the game will tell you about sub-scenarios .

Sub-Scenarios : At certain points in the game, you will find blue exclamation marks in addition to the important orange ones. Head for a blue mark to begin a sub-scenario (i.e. side-quest).

Here, you can encounter new asterisk holders and obtain new jobs. Conveniently, there’s a blue exclamation mark in the city itself, so you can start by heading there.

Either way, while you’re in the city, take this chance to stock up on healing items and buy new equipment and magic scrolls. Needless to say, the path from here on isn’t going to get any easier!

At the moment, you probably have limited funds, so you won’t be able to buy everything. Just make a note to return to the shops later, once you’ve amassed more pg and you can’t go wrong. Don’t forget to nap in the inn too!

AI Friends scale with your story progress and rarely have many new abilities for you to use.

Note : Speak to the Adventurer outside the inn when you have no friends and you’ll become friends with an AI Friend . You can use friend summons and Abilink with AI friends just like real friends, but AI friends won’t be much further ahead than you so they’re not super useful. Tip of the day: Get yourself some real friends!
