Important: You can reach the Finale at any time during Chapter 5-8, so long as you haven’t awakened all the crystals. All you have to do is continue to press the X button during the Rite of Awakening, ignoring all of Airy’s warnings. For maximum enjoyment, we recommend playing the Finale after Chapter 6, once you’ve learned all of the key facts.
As Agnes continues relentlessly praying to the crystal, dangerously close to its breaking point, a vile creature–the Evil One–appears before our heroes. In a rare and heroic moment, Ringabel tells Agnes to carry on with her thankless task, while he and the others hold the villain at bay.
Boss: The Evil One (Larva)
(1 of 2)
Level | HP | Weak to |
---|---|---|
48 | 150,000 | Fire, Bug |
You’ll fight this hideous beast without Agnes in your party, but don’t panic (much) because this isn’t a real battle. After a handful of turns, it will use Slaughter to instantly K.O. your party, automatically ending the battle.
After the party gets wiped out, the Evil One leaves the scene, none too pleased with its plans in tatters. However our heroes don’t stay down for long; when they’re alive and kicking again, their sights are set on stopping the Evil One, before another cycle of misery starts.
As soon as you’re ready, head for the end of Norende Ravine, where the Great Chasm lies. At the ravine’s peak, the Dark Aurora–the Evil One’s lair–hangs menacingly in the sky and, on the cliff’s edge, there’s a magic circle that looks to be the entrance. Beyond is the game’s final dungeon.
Extra Dungeon: If you have time for a detour, you can now visit the Dimension’s Hasp optional dungeon.
Bear in mind that you can’t 100% complete this dungeon during the Finale (you must be in The End). You can, however, explore most of the floors, to obtain some useful and powerful items. That said, be prepared to set aside a lot of time, since you can’t teleport out in a hurry.
