The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Acorn

By
Vincent Lau

Acorns can be used as filler while cooking.

Often found on the ground near trees. Squirrels adore this nut, so you may have competition while foraging. Add one to a meal for a nutty seasoning.

Raw Effect:

  • Recovery: 0.25 heart

Recipe Effect:

  • Duration: +50 seconds (first), +30 seconds (thereafter)
  • Recovery: +1 heart (first), 0.5 heart (thereafter)

Where to Find

Acorns can be obtained by killing Bushy-Tailed Squirrels or destroying certain trees. You can also find them occasionally on the ground.

You’ll run into a single squirrel (with some tiny birds nearby) and then a group of three squirrels bunched together (that are easy prey for a Bomb Arrow).

(1 of 3) Here’s a tree that occasionally drops Acorns.

Last but not least, if you don’t have the heart to kill squirrels or they keep running before you can whack them, you can try your hand on a simpler target: trees.

Certain trees, particularly those with many leaves, have a 20% chance of dropping Acorns. While it’s not as high as the squirrels’ drop rate, at least trees are extremely common. Also, if you feel bad for deforestation, trees will respawn very quickly.

You shouldn’t have problem finding trees, but if your mind is drawing a blank, try Dalite Forest south-east from Satori Mountain. The mountain itself is also a good place, but many trees are located near slopes and Acorns are round, so…
