This is the final boss floor. If you made it this far, there’s no reason you can’t prevail! The floor itself is made of a wide island with palm trees by the corners and a sleeping Hinox in the center.

Strategy

So long as you fight carefully, this floor is pretty easy. To start with, if you’re desperate for food, there are a few Palm Fruit hanging atop some of the palm trees. Grab them now or you may not have the chance later.

If you’re lacking strong weapons, you could consider creeping up to the side of the Hinox and waiting for its arm to lower to the ground, then stand on the open palm. After a short while, the Hinox will raise its arm, placing you near its neck, where you can grab a sword and bow.

Watch out for the tell-tale sign of a butt stomp! (left), You really don’t want to be underneath or near the Hinox during one of these! (right)

Besides that, the difficulty of this floor largely depends on your confidence with fighting Hinox. To recap, Hinox are large, hulking monsters with one eye that will give chase when they spot you. They can attack by clapping their hands in front or by leaping up and slamming their butt down. They can also grab trees to use as swords.

Although there’s nowhere to hide, there’s definitely enough space to run. If you keep moving at a decent pace, the Hinox should never catch up to you. Just to be safe, avoid moving too far away from the Hinox or it might notice a tree and pick it up, vastly increasing its attack range.

(1 of 2) Use Stasis to freeze the Hinox, giving you time to…

Use Stasis to freeze the Hinox, giving you time to… (left), …aim and launch an arrow towards its eye. (right)

There are two main ways to begin attacking a Hinox. One, if you shoot the big massive eye or throw a weapon at it, you’ll stun the Hinox and it’ll sit on the floor for a while. At which point you can run in and attack its… privates or go around and whack its butt. Its legs will be protected by sturdy wooden guards.

Now it’s totally fine if you’re not good at aiming, especially when you’re being chased by a huge monster. So don’t panic if you keep missing. What you can do is apply Stasis, then use the brief window of opportunity to line up your shot. Otherwise, hopefully you grabbed plenty of arrows from earlier floors!

Stasis is also extremely useful because, after a few hits to the eye, the Hinox will start to cover up its eye with one of its arms, when it spots you readying your bow. However, it cannot protect its eye while time’s stopped!

(1 of 2) Feeling courageous? Then run between the Hinox’s legs.

Feeling courageous? Then run between the Hinox’s legs. (left), Afterwards, poke its behind, while being mindful of a butt stomp. (right)

Besides that, you can briefly idle in front of the Hinox, then run underneath its legs while it performs a clapping attack. The attack is quite slow, so you’ve got ample opportunity to get some hits in. Afterwards, keep an eye on the Hinox’s actions, in case it decides to perform a butt stomp attack.

Last, but not least, if you don’t think you’ll get hit, now’s the best time to eat an attack-buffing food if you cooked one. If you’re lucky, you can make a dish with a Level 3 buff, which will really speed up the fight.
