Difficulty Monsters
★★★★★★☆☆☆☆ Igneo Talus x1

This is the boss floor of the volcanic section. In the center is a slumbering Igneo Talus. Towards the edges, there are three breakable rock structures, arranged in a triangle shape centered on the Talus.

Strategy

Turn right and blow up the cracked boulder mound to reveal a powerful air vent. Now face the center of the arena again and approach the slumbering Talus. Roll a bomb towards it and detonate it to wake it up and, hopefully, blow one of its arms off. Run back to the air vent you created and glide upwards, then fly towards the Talus.

(1 of 2) Glide towards the Talus and shoot an Ice Arrow.

Glide towards the Talus and shoot an Ice Arrow. (left), Land on the cooled Talus and whack the ore deposit with a hammer. (right)

When you’re suitably close, shoot the Talus with Ice Arrows from Floor 5. A direct hit will cause the molten Talus’s body to solidify, allowying you to safely climb it. Then land on top of the Talus and charge up a spinning attack with the Iron Sledgehammer from Floor 9, aiming for the ore deposit weak spot.

If you’ve got no Ice Arrows, don’t fret. Look for a safe opening and swing the Great Frostblade (dropped by the Stalnox) at the Talus. You can use Stasis to keep it in place while you maneuver around, but only swing the blade after Stasis expires.

(1 of 2) Alternatively, swing the Frostblade near the Talus.

Alternatively, swing the Frostblade near the Talus. (left), Then climb up its body normally. (right)

In the event you don’t have the Frostblade… what have you been doing?! Head for the air vent and glide towards the Talus, but don’t land. Shoot arrows at the weak spot or drop bombs from above. Or if you don’t mind a little pain, you may land on top and attack the Talus, while slowly burning to death.

After extinguishing the Talus, smash the metal crates near the edges of the arena for valuable arrows. You can also break these crates before or during the battle if you desperately need arrows.
