Kami Omuna Shrine

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

A guide on how to unlock and complete Kami Omuna Shrine, which is the first trial in Ex Champion Daruk’s Song DLC quest.

(1 of 2) This shrine is found north of Lake Darman

This shrine is found north of Lake Darman (left), and you’ll need to fight an Ingeo Talus Titan to unlock it. (right)

How to “stop a titan of molten stone”

To unlock Kami Omuna Shrine, you need to head up to Lake Darman, which is northeast of Eldin City. You’ll want to be on the northern bank of the lake so approach from that angle if you can.

When you arrive at the lake, you’ll notice a giant lava rock rise from the lake. Surprise! It’s actually an Igneo Talus Titan! To fight this lava boss, you’ll need to equip your ice weapons. A blizzard rod because and ice arrows are extra useful because you can hit him from afar.

How to Beat Igneo Talus Titan

We used a blizzard rod and found it to be pretty effective. Stand at the edge of the lake and charge up a blizzard rod attack so that the area of effect reaches the Titan. Your goal is to temporarily extinguish the Titan’s fiery exterior. Also, it is super beneficial to all charges of Urbosa’s Fury up, because it’ll also deal a huge amount of damage when you charge up your blizzard rod attacks.

Use icy weapons to cool down the Titan.

Here comes the tricky part, when the Titan’s exterior is cooled, use the gusts of wind nearby to paraglide up and then drop down onto the Titan. This can be a bit difficult to maneuver because the Titan will sometimes throw you off if you don’t land perfectly on its back. The good thing is though, if you fall in the lava you don’t actually get a “game over” and you just start back on the banks at your current position in the fight. If you get hit to 0 hearts and then fall into the lava then it counts as a “game over” and you will have to start from your last save.

When you’ve successfully landed on the Titan’s back, you’ll want to equip a durable and heavy hitting weapon to hit the ore vein on his back as many times as you can. The Boulder Breaker is a super effective weapon but weapons like the Royal Claymore are also pretty good. You need to be perceptive to the Titan’s movements, and as soon as it begins to vibrate you want to paraglide off his body.

Repeat this process until you beat the Titan for good and once it’s defeated, Kami Omuna shrine will spawn on the banks of the lake.

Then fly onto his back whilst he’s cooled off and hit his ore vein.

How to complete Kami Omuna: Moving Targets

To the left of the entrance into the shrine, you’ll find a cannon apparatus that’s powered by your remote bombs. Roll a bomb into the tube, then hit the orange crystal to move the cannon apparatus. Then, hit L to detonate the bomb when you’ve lined up the apparatus with the target. If you’ve timed it right the cannon ball will hit the target and open the first set of gates to the end of the shrine.

Use the cannon to shoot the target.

Before we move to the next cannon apparatus, use this cannon to hit the wooden platform that’s holding up a treasure chest in the corner of the room. Then, you can head across the bridge to the right to reach the treasure chest using magnesis and loot it for a Diamond.

After grabbing the treasure head back up and walk up the steps and to the right where you’ll find a new cannon to use. Before using the cannon however, you’ll want to use the motion control apparatus to tilt the floating structure so that the target is centered and facing you and the cannon. Then, you can use your cannon to shoot at the target.

Once you’ve successfully hit that target, another one will appear behind the floating structure. You’ll want to then rotate the structure using motion controls so that you have a clear view of the target. For inspiration see the pictures below.

(1 of 2) Use motion controls to center the target so you can shoot it with the cannon

Use motion controls to center the target so you can shoot it with the cannon (left), then after hitting that one, you’ll need to move the structure so you have a clear line of sight of the back target. (right)

After shooting the target the final gate to the end of the shrine will open and you can finish up and claim your first Rudania’s Emblem.
