The second star for Hazy Maze Cave can be a bit annoying, as you will see. Take the right path at the beginning, noting that the one pit will continually shoot out Scuttle Bugs and only the first one will produce coins upon defeat. At the end of the path, go through the door to arrive in the Work Elevator area. As the name of the star says, you will need to find the eight Red Coins and all of them are in the Work Elevator area. Four will require the use of the elevator that needs you pushing the arrow buttons, while the other four will have you using the automatic elevator.

(1 of 2) You will have to break the blocks to get the first three Red Coins

You will have to break the blocks to get the first three Red Coins (left), The fourth coin is on a platform in the corner (right)

Slide down the pole next to where you entered and head to the one corner, where you will find stairs that lead to a platform that has one of the elevators right next to it. This elevator has four buttons on it that correspond to the cardinal directions. Before stepping on the platform and beginning to move, you should notice a box in the middle of the area, just “floating” there. There will be three of these boxes, all of which will contain Red Coins. While riding the platform, if lined up correctly, you can just punch the boxes open then collect the Red Coins. You will obtain Red Coin #1, Red Coin #2 and Red Coin #3 from doing this.

By the time you get the third Red Coin, you should see Red Coin #4 on a platform in the one corner of the area. Return to the stairs and back to where the directional button elevator first spawned. Look a little bit in the distance, along the wall, to spy a ledge that has a pole sticking out of it. Long Jump over to that platform and climb the pole to the top, where you should be able to jump off to another platform. This one has another elevator, which will automatically move on its own once you get on it. You don’t really have to do much, except for destroy one block in the way, or jump over some small platforms.

(1 of 2) Ride this automatic elevator to reach Red Coins 5 and 6

Ride this automatic elevator to reach Red Coins 5 and 6 (left), The last two coins will be on the same platform (right)

Red Coin #5 will be floating in the air a little after the breakable block, while Red Coin #6 will be on one of the small platforms you need to jump. The final two Red Coins, Red Coin #7 and Red Coin #8 are on a platform the elevator passes, so make sure you jump off it to grab them. The star will spawn in the center of the room, on the ground.
