Description

This page offers a guide on Episode 3 in Bianco Hills.

Path to the Hillside Cave

As you’ve done in previous levels, follow the brick path from the starting area to the small village. Then, take the path to the right and follow the red arrow signs along the path until you reach the hill. When you reach the hill, jump and hover over to the platforms in the lake. At this section, you can either use the ropes or you can hover from platform to platform. Hovering is easier as jumping off the ropes can be a bit temperamental, and hovering is also just much faster.

Hovering to the last couple of platforms offers a bit of a short cut!

When you reach the end of the platforms, run up the grassy ledge and triple jump or sideways somersault up onto the rope. Jump off the rope to reach the cave behind you.

Obstacle Course

When you enter into the cave, Shadow Mario will steal your FLUDD, meaning you temporarily don’t have access to your hover functions. When you enter the cave, you’ll need to make your way through a precarious obstacle course.

Firstly, you’ll need to jump up the large moving blocks. Then, you can take one of two methods over the moving orange blocks: if you’re confident, you can jump across the blocks quickly, however, if you’d rather be a bit safer then you can walk along the blocks, waiting for each one to line up so you have no chance of falling. If you miss a block and fall, you will lose a life.

The orange blocks move frequently and it can be hard to find your footing.

On this next path, a series of large blocks will move around and across the narrow platform. You will need to time your run and make sure you’re not on the path when a large block moves over it, as you’ll be pushed straight off.

When you’ve made it across the long path, you’ll be faced with two spinning star platforms. Jump across them to reach the end of the level where you’ll find a Shine Sprite waiting for you. When you leave this level, you’ll also have your FLUDD backpack back.

When you make it to the end of the obstacle course, you’ll be able to grab the Shine Sprite.
