Description

This level is only unlocked once the Gate dome is available again. The Gate dome is unlocked again when the Garden dome is unlocked, after retrieving the sixth Grand Star in King Kaliente’s Spicy Return.

Purple Coins

This is the first level where you’ll have to collect 100 Purple Coins. After you’ve completed this level, you’ll have access to other Purple Coin levels when there is a Purple Comet in orbit of a galaxy. When you collect all 100 Purple Coins, you will be rewarded with a unique Red Power Star. During this level, you’ll also have access to a new Mario form. When you walk through a Red Star power-up, you’ll be able to fly! To do so, you’ll need to press Y to spin whilst jumping in the air. Whilst flying, you can collect purple coins by flying straight through them, or you can spin again to grab stars in close proximity. You can only fly a certain distance before your power-up runs out, but there are a few power-up spawn points so you can just grab another to begin your flight again.

This is your first run in with the red power-up star that allows you to fly!

In this level, there are 30 Purple Coins floating above the planet and the rest are on the planet itself. To grab the 30 floating coins, jump off the tower and fly around the planet, following the trail of coins. Although the other 70 are on the planet itself, it’ll be useful to fly to some of them as they’re on roofs and on tall rocks. You can also just jump up to them but you may find it easier to fly around grabbing the Purple Coins that are high up.

There are 30 Purple Coins in the sky for you to get whilst flying.

There are 30 in the sky in bubbles. Then, there are 10 Purple Coins on the tower steps. At the base of the tower, you’ll find 12 in the shallow lake. There is a circle of tall stone pillars, on them you’ll find 7 more Purple Coins. You’ll also find 9 Purple Coins on the roofs of the houses on this planet. There is also a cluster of 8 coins on a flowery mound nearby to one of the houses. The rest of the 26 coins are easily found on the ground of the planet, on stepping stones and between the green sprouts, for example.

When you’ve collected all 100 Purple Coins, head back up to the top of the tower to grab the Red Power Star!

Once you’ve collected all 100 coins, you’ll earn a Red Power Star!
