Upon defeating Ifrit, you will unlock Ixion. In addition to his normal attack, Ixion has Aerospark, which can remove some buffs, if you happen to have any on your Aeon. Ixion can also spend a turn either defending or evading. The former will make his defenses max out, while the latter will increase his evasion to max. There’s nothing you can really do about his defending turn, but the evading one will only pertain to physical attacks, so use a special attack or magic. His Overdrive is still Thor’s Hammer.
