The Garudas during the previous parts of the game are forced battle, either used for tutorials or a staged fight. It isn’t until you reach Mushroom Rock Road that you will run into them for random encounters. They are pretty similar to their other counterparts, although their normal attacks have a chance to inflict Darkness. Sonic Boom will inflict damage on your entire party. The best way to take these out is to either inflict Darkness with Wakka’s Dark Attack or poison it somehow, which will take huge chunks out of its HP.
