The Shred is an armored fiend that is found on the Calm Lands, usually on the large hill close to the entrance. As it is armored, you will need Piercing on the character’s weapon in order to deliver full physical damage. Despite being weak to Fire, it has pretty high magic defense, so it’s not ideal to use magic. Its physical attacks have a chance to inflict Slow on the character it hits, which is about all it has going for it.
