The Defender Z can be found in the latter portion of Zanarkand, as well as in Omega Ruins. It is pretty much a stronger version of the Defender X boss, as it pretty much has the same moves and can be fought in the same manner. In addition to its normal attack, it can use Haymaker (stronger attack) against a single character. At low health, it will use Blast Punch to cut a character’s current HP in half. The easiest way to bring down this enemy is to use Provoke, as that forces it to only use Blast Punch. Use Armor Break to cut its defenses down to nothing, then you can just physically attack it.
