Once, people who sought to join the adepti must pass the trials of heavens and earth. Taishan Mansion served as the trial of “earth”. Now that the adepti have long departed from this realm, Taishan Mansion has also turned into a common treasure trove.

Water Drainage Puzzle¶

Steps¶

1. Defeat 3 waves of enemies at Pillar 1
2. Activate the pillar here
3. Go to the second Pillar which has now been exposed in the center
4. Smash 3 breakable crystals along the water edge, and bring the stars to the totems surrounding the pillar
5. Activate Pillar 2.

To enter Taishan Mansion you must first complete a puzzle to unlock it, to do this you need to head to Jueyun Karst, Liyue and drain the water to reveal a submerged Domain.

There are two pillars here that need to be activated so head to the northeastern part of the lake and you will see the first pillar.

Pillar 1¶

As you approach the pillar you will have to battle with three waves of enemies, Cryo works great here because the monsters are in a shallow pool of water and if you combine Cryo with the water you will trigger the status Frozen which will stop the enemies from attacking.

Once the enemies are dealt with you will receive a chest, jump on top of the pedestal and interact with the glowing, orange button to lower the water by half and reveal the second pillar which was submerged but now is accessible. After the scene head on over to the central area which is where you will find pillar two.

Pillar 2¶

Looking around you will see three lanterns that all need to be illuminated, to do this, you will need to find and destroy small Geo crystals and bring back the motes back to the lanters. The motes only last several seconds so you will have to be quick about it.

Once you have brought the motes back to the lanterns you will be able to interact with the central pedestal which will drain the remainder of the lake, pick up the chest and go to the now exposed domain to unlock it.

Recommended Party¶

Once you get to Altar III and IV at Adventure Rank 30 and 40 you will need to bring in a specific party because the higher tiers can be difficult to finish in the allotted time.

Take a party of two or three Hydro and/or Cryo party members in here with you and at least one member being able to heal because of the Ley Line Disorder.

As these are all Pyro enemies, Cryo will work best here because it will trigger Melt which makes the next Cryo attack do more damage. Hydro also works well to trigger Vaporize as it will do the same as Melt. Both of these elements are great against the Abyss Mage too.
