Head to the adventurer camp
Find Albedo and learn his secret
Take up the mysterious sword and do battle
Note: Although Albedo tells you to use the sword, you don’t have to and can complete it with any weapon or character.
Glide to the marker on your map and defeat all the Cryo Slimes, Pyro and Electro are extremely strong against most enemies here, so make sure to take advantage of that.
Defeat the Treasure Hoarders
After the battle and a short scene, you’ll have to fight two waves of Treasure Hoarders, same as before, hit them with Pyro and Electro for the Overload status to increase your damage against them. If you’re having trouble with them, use a Geo shield user like Noelle and Zhongli to negate a lot of their damage.
Speak to Albedo
Talk to Albedo again and after a short scene you’ll complete the quest and receive the Festering Desire sword and will unlock the first part of the event.
Festering Desire Event - Act 1
You’ll now have the Festering Desire and you’ll have to collect Rime-Worn Fragments which have a chance to drop from all the enemies within Dragonspine, you’ll also need Rime-Worn Crystals which drop from the normal boss type enemies. This will reward you with Primogems and Mora.
Note: Completing all quests in each of the first three Acts will unlock one of Festering Desire’s special abilities each time.
When you enhance the Festering Desire to level 2, you’ll be rewarded some Ascension Materials, the same when you enhance it to level 3. To enhance the sword, you’ll need to upgrade it like any other weapon, you’ll need Fetters of the Dandelion Gladiator, Heavy Horn and Recruit’s Insignia, as you enhance the level further, you’ll need their upgrades.
