This page will walk you through all the steps of the Lunar Realm Event Quest “The Moon Has Risen” in Genshin Impact.
Talk to the Inazuman fisherwoman Kujirai Momiji
To unlock the Lunar Realm challenges, you’ll need to complete this quest to gain access to them. This quest can be accepted from Kujirai Momiji at the Inazuman Fishing Association, which is situated next to the southern Byakko Plain waypoint, northwest of Inazuma City. When you talk to her, she’ll mention the “Lunar Leviathan”, to which you’ll ask “Lunar Leviathan?”. According to legends, it has the power to grant wishes. Although it’s just a legend, Kujirai believes its real, because she personally encountered one a few years back. You ask if it granted her wish, and she responds with a tentative “kind of”, and then she’ll recount her story to you.
Apparently, a couple of years ago, her and her two friends, Jiawei, and Nantuck was on an adventure to hunt down a Lunar Leviathan, until a violent thunderstorm put an end to it, destroying their compass which left them stranded. They were on their last legs being stranded for days with no fresh water to a point that Jiawei had written a suicide note, and was about to put it in a bottle, and jump into the sea, thankfully they were awake, and stopped him from doing that. At that moment, they saw a giant shape under the water, which emitted a faint glow. They were so desperate, they asked for a safe passage home, the magical shape then began swimming away, and they followed it, which led them home.
This is why she wants to find it again, and she tells you that her old fisherman friends helping would be a great deal. She’ll tell you that Jiawei should be able to be found at the docks in Liyue, but for Nantuck, you’ll need to ask Jiawei about his location.
Talk to the Liyue fisherman Jiawei
Teleport to the lower Liyue Harbor waypoint, and head east towards the docks, Jiawei can be found on the southernmost pier. Talk to him, and you’ll tell him about your conversation with Kujirai Momiji, and he’ll wish you good luck on your search. Paimon will tell him that you came here for his help, and that his old pal will be disappointed that he won’t help. He’ll explain to you that he almost died that day, and he has no intention of going back into the ocean, but he will give you some training to help you on your adventure. This will end the quest, and unlock the challenges for the event.
