Seek out Mountain Shaper

Mountain Shaper can be found in Mt. Hula, west of Qingyun Peak. Teleport to Qingyun Peak, and glide west as far as you can. You’ll most likely land underneath your objective, in the Stone Forest. Follow the path up to the northeast, and follow it past the flights of stairs, all the way up to the top, and unlock the Mt. Hula teleport waypoint, then drop back down a level, and you should see Li Ding, a Treasure Hoarder, praying by a small pool of water, head over, and talk to him for a scene. You’ll ask him what’s going on, and he’ll mistake you for adepti messengers, here to rescue his brother.

Apparently his family is poor, and they heard of great riches hidden in the amber of Mt. Hulao. They followed the path up, and the amber swallowed up his brother, which is why he’s praying now, because he doesn’t know of any other way to save him. After some convincing, you’ll agree to help him find his brother.

Shatter the amber on the mountain road to save the trapped person

Go around the area, breaking the large amber crystals with a Claymore user, and some will have items hidden within, whilst some will hide some enemies, and some will even hide treasure chests! The amber crystal you’re looking for will be next to the dirt path, on the eastern edge of the objective marker radius, near the shrine like structure. Once you’ve found the brother, head over, and talk to him. If you have trouble speaking to him because you’re in combat, there might be some Dendro Slimes hiding under the ground nearby, attack them with Pyro to bring them to the surface, and defeat them.

Talk to Li Dang

The brothers name is Li Dang, he’ll thank you for rescuing him, and ask if you’ve seen his brother, Li Ding. You’ll tell him where he is, and he’ll head on up to his brother.

Talk to Li Ding and Li Dang

Head back up to the pool of water, and speak to the brothers, Li Ding will also that you for your kindness, then they’ll leave, as they’ve been trespassing long enough. As they go, a Crane like creature flies down to the pool.

Meet Mountain Shaper

The Crane happens to be, Mountain Shaper, the adepti. Head on over, and speak with it. It’ll tell you that you’re intruding upon the sanctity of Mt. Hulao, you destroy the amber, and you release a thief. You’ll show it the Sigil of Permission that you received from Childe. That’ll stop him moaning, and he’ll give you a brief history of the Sigil, and why it’s a rare thing to have. You’ll explain the events of the Rite, and it’ll be shocked at the assassination of Rex Lapis, but is curious of what power could do that. It now understands why Moon Carver sent you, and it’ll convene with the other adepti after tending to some matters here. It’ll tell you some lore about the amber surrounding the mountains, then the scene will end, with the quest following suit.
