How to Dye Armor

By
Jessica Dillon

If you want to be a bit more stylish in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom, then you need to find the dye shop. For players who played the prequel, Breath of The Wild, Sayge and his shop will be extremely familiar. If you haven’t, then you’re likely going to be a bit lost on how the whole dye process works in Zelda. The guide below goes over where to find the dye shop in Tears of The Kingdom and how to change the colors of your armor.

Sayge returns in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom to dye links armor.

Where to Dye Armor in Tears of The Kingdom

To dye armor, you will need to head to Hateno Village in the Southeast area of Hyrule. This is a village that is currently being overtaken with colorful mushroom fashion, so it’s hard to mistake. Once you are in Hateno, you will find Kochi Dye Shop up from the general store. Go inside and speak with Sayge. He will tell you that he can dye your armor if you have the correct supplies and twenty rupees.

(1 of 3) Speak with Sayge to start the process.

There is no limit to the number of times you can dye a piece of gear, and you are allowed to dye gear that you aren’t currently wearing. The only requirement is that you pay the 20 Rupees each time and that you have at least five ingredients that can be used to make the dye. These ingredients can be mixed and matched, so for example, if you want white armor, you can use a combination of Ice Chu Jelly and Ice Fruit to complete the dye. Once you’re done selecting items, a short cutscene will play, and your armor will be permanently changed.
