Homegrown in Hateno

By

If you have been enjoying getting to know "Mayor Reede" iconMayor Reede and "Cece" iconCece during the mayoral election, then you will be happy to know that Reede has one more quest after the line is completed. This is a bit different as it’s marked as a side quest and is easy to miss. The guide below goes over how to complete "Homegrown in Hateno" iconHomegrown in Hateno and hold the "Stalkoblin" iconStalkoblins off to sunrise.

Starting Homegrown in Hateno.

How to Hold Off The Stalkoblins to Sunrise in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom

Once you complete The Mayoral Elections quest, you will only have a single quest left to do for Reede. Head to the mostly baron field down from the clothing shop. It overlooks the road into "Hateno Village" iconHateno Village. Once there, you will once again find Reede. Speak with him to learn that Stalkoblins have been attacking the village, and tell him you will be his bodyguard. To start the quest, you simply need to talk with him again and tell him you’re ready. The time will instantly change to late at night. There are two options to beat this quest.

  • Defeat All Waves of Stalkoblins.
  • Wait Until 5 am.

These are relatively easy enemies to beat, even when the larger versions, "Stalmoblin" iconStalmoblin and then "Stalizalfos" iconStalizalfos, appear in the second and fourth waves. The best strategy is to use a polearm with good reach to poke the Stalkoblins from a distance. This will easily knock off their heads. Remember that you will need to hit the head after it’s knocked loose, or the Stalkoblins will eventually revive. The onslaught will either stop once the sun rises at 5 am or when you have defeated several waves of Stalkoblins. Once you have completed the quest, you will be awarded five Sun Pumpkins, and Link will now be able to buy the unique fruit in Hateno Village.

(1 of 4) Talk with Reede to take the job, and again when you are ready to fight.
