The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

How to Complete Ihen-a Shrine

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This page offers a guide on how to complete Ihen-a Shrine, found in the Lanayru region in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK). On this page, you’ll find information on where to find !Ihen-a Shrine, how to complete all of the puzzles and how to obtain the shrine’s treasure chest.

!Ihen-a Shrine is all about using hover stones to make your way through the shrine!

Where to Find Ihen-a Shrine

!Ihen-a Shrine is found north east of Zora’s Domain, near Mipha Court (Map Marker). It can be quite tricky to reach this area of the map if you’re not actively going here during the Water Temple main story quest, as it’s a high up plateau area surrounded by icy walls, tall cliffs and waterfalls. If you have "Zora Armor" iconZora Armor, obtained during the Water Temple main story, then you won’t have any issue reaching here as it allows you to swim up waterfalls. We recommend grabbing this shrine only when you have this armor, but it isn’t impossible to reach it without. If you don’t have the armor, you can paraglide over from Upland Zorana Skyview Tower and climb some of the way as well.

Ihen-a Shrine: Midair Perch Puzzle Walkthrough

Ihen-a shrine is all about using Hover Stone zonai devices to make your way through the shrine! If you’ve not used a !Hover Stone zonai device before, all you need to do is hit it to power it up (it glows green when turned on), then you can move it around using "Ultrahand" iconUltrahand and it’ll stay floating in the air. These make very handy platforms you can climb onto or even ascend onto too!

In the first room of the shrine, you’ll find four hover stones dotted around the room. Your first task is to create a set of steps using the stones that head up to the upper platform. You can space them apart and hop to each one, or you can attach them to one another.

Use the hover stones to create a set of steps up to the upper platform.

In this next room, you’ll first want to place the hover stone in the middle of the chasm up ahead. Then, use Ultrahand and grab the long platform that’s stood against the right wall. Attach the platform to the hover stone and then make your way across to the other side!

After crossing the gap, you’ll notice another gap right in front of a higher platform. You’ll need to pick up the hover stone and platform and rotate them diagonally, then place them against the wall so it can act like a ramp up to the upper area.

(1 of 3) Place the hover stone in the middle of the chasm.

In this final room, you’ll find even more hover stones, as well as the treasure chest! Before we make our way to the end of the shrine, let’s quickly grab the treasure.

How to Get the Ihen-a Shrine Treasure Chest

As you head into this room, turn left to find the lone hover stone. Rotate it and position it higher and flesh to the wall, beneath the alcove with the treasure chest. Then, ascend up onto the platform and open the treasure chest, which contains x5 "Arrow" iconArrows.

(1 of 2) !Ascend up onto the hover stone

!Ascend up onto the hover stone (left), so you can loot the chest for some arrows! (right)

And finally, to get to the end of the shrine, head over and place some hover stones in front of the piston near the pillar. Place the ball on one of the hover stones, then hop onto one of them yourself. When you’re ready, shoot the pillar to power up the piston and fling yourself across the huge gap in the floor.

(1 of 3) Place some hover stones in front of the piston, then place the ball onto one of them.

On the other side of the room, you’ll be able to drop the ball into the assigned hole to open up the gate to the end of the shrine. Activate the end of the shrine to finish up and earn your "Light of Blessing" iconLight of Blessing.
