The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Hebra’s Colossal Fossil Walkthrough - Zelda Tears of The Kingdom

By
Jessica Dillon

There are a ton of side quests spread out around Hyrule, some of which are part of a quest chain. The giant skeletons that you can find laying around in Eldin, Hebra, and Gerudo are all part of the Colossal Fossil chain, and "Hebra's Colossal Fossil" iconHebra’s Colossal Fossil is the second quest you receive from Loone. This time, you have to repair a giant skeleton again, but the missing bones are a tad bit harder to find. The guide below goes over where to find Hebra’s Colossal Fossil and how to repair the Leviathan skeleton for !Loone in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom.

Once you finish Eldin’s Colossal Fossil, Hebra’s Colossal Fossil will begin.

Where to Find and How to Fix Hebra’s Colossal Fossil

Once you have finished Eldin’s Colossal Fossil, !Loone will give you the location of the fossil in the Hebra Mountains. This time you will be heading to the Hebra North Summit. The "Hebra Great Skeleton" iconHebra Great Skeleton isn’t out in the open like the Eldin and Gerudo ones. Instead, you will need to go into a cave at the base of the mountain. Luckily, it has a large door out front, and !Loone marked the location on your map so it should be easy to find. To get there quickly, use the "Eutoum Shrine" iconEutoum Shrine.

Once you are in the cave, you will see Loone standing by her campfire. She will tell you that the Leviathan is missing one of its tail bones and a fin. If you look in front of you, you will see a bone lodged in some breakable rocks on the left and a glacier on the right. Go to the breakable rocks and use a bomb flower to free the fin bone. You will now need to drag it over to the wall with the right fin, and use "Ultrahand" iconUltrahand to fit it back into the skeleton, when you do a small cutscene will play.

Once this is done, go down to the glacier. You will want to use arrows with "Fire Fruit" iconFire Fruit to melt it, this will take around ten "Arrow" iconArrows to do. Once the tailbone is freed, use Ultrahand to carry it over to the skeleton. Twist the bone until the large fin is facing upwards and then start trying to place it into the spine. This may take a bit more time as it’s hard to get it inserted just right. Once you do another cutscene will play and the Leviathan will now be whole.

(1 of 7) Go to Hebra North Summit to find the Hebra Great Skeleton.

Return to !Loone and speak with her, she will now notice that the skeleton is complete. For your trouble, she will give you a "Purple Rupee" iconPurple Rupee. This will also automatically start the third and last part of her quest line, "Gerudo's Colossal Fossil" iconGerudo’s Colossal Fossil. If you want to start this quest now, then head into the Gerudo Desert, keep in mind that if you haven’t finished the Lightining Temple, the desert will be wrapped in a never-ending sandstorm.
