The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Where to Find The Zonaite Armor in Tears of The Kingdom

By
Jessica Dillon

There are quite a few different armor sets in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom. Many of these give Link special abilities like shock-resistance or improved Zonaite !Battery. In fact, there is a set specially dedicated to increasing your batter called the Zonaite Armor. It’s scattered around the map in three different places so it can be a bit hard to find. The guide below goes over where to find each piece of the Zonaite Armor in Tears of The Kingdom.

Zonaite Armor Map Locations

There are three different locations that you will need to visit to get the "Zonaite" iconZonaite armor. The chart below gives you the location of each one.

Zonaite Helm Location - Tabantha Sky

The first item of the set, the "Zonaite Helm" iconZonaite Helm, is located on Lightcast Island. It can be found floating over Tabantha. To easily access Lightcast Island, go to the Ganos Shrine. Be sure to bring some cold weather clothes like the Snowquill Armor to keep you warm. In the center of the island that the shrine is on will be a wheel and a device that will shoot items and Link high into the sky, turn the wheel until it is facing towards the island with a large pond on your map. You will want to hop in the device and let it send you flying. Once you have reached the peak height, use your glider to move over to Lightcast Isle. On the back left side you will see a Zonaite device similar to what you use to activate shrines.

Use it and the lake will drain, be sure to grab some of the "Ancient Arowana" iconAncient Arowana that are flopping around. You will want to head inside the cave in the center, there will be a Construct out front, defeat it. You will notice that there are some rocks blocking the entrance, use a "Bomb Flower" iconBomb Flower to get rid of them. Inside you will find Mirrors, and beams of light shining down. You simply need to adjust the mirror to hit the next one in the distance, you will be able to make them out so don’t worry about fumbling around. Jump from mirror to mirror until you reach the final spot and the chest containing the Zonaite Helm.

(1 of 4) Lightcast Island.

Zonaite Waistguard - Necluda Sky

The next set piece of the Zonaite set is a bit trickier to get. The "Zonaite Waistguard" iconZonaite Waistguard is located on Zonaite Forge Island in the Neclude sky. To get to this island you will likely need Tulin as you must go to the island with the Ukoojisi Shrine and head to the center to once again turn a wheel. Only this time you will be launching yourself towards a large waterfall far in the distance. For starters, you will need around two Stamina Bars to reach the waterfall. You will also need to use Tulin’s Gust ability to make it there before you fall too short. On top of that, to climb the waterfall, you will need to have a piece of the "Zora Armor" iconZora Armor equipped to Link. Once you do climb up the waterfall, you will see a floating brick with a Construct.

Defeat him and attack the Rockets to the back of the platform, you will want to set them off with an arrow. This will take you over to Zonaite Forge Island. Once again activate the Zonaite device to make a path to the Zonaite Waistguard. This will start up some large gusts, ride them to the top of the island and you will find a large entrance. Inside are several lasers and a current that will constantly push you up. You must let go or and open the glider on your way down to avoid the laser. Once you land you will see the Yansamin Shrine.

Go behind this shrine, and shoot a Water Fruit under the pillar, make a safe path to it, and then use Ascend. This will take Link through the pillar and spit him out in front of the treasure chest that contains the Zonaite Waistguard.

(1 of 6) Look for the large waterfall.

Zonaite Shins Guards - North Akkala Sky

The final piece of the Zonaite set, the Zonaite Shins Guards are in the North Akkala sky above Tarry Town. The set is inside a large orb at the highest point in the sky. To reach it teleport to the Gikaku Shrine. Here you will find another Zonaite device, interact with it to get the launcher working. Turn it towards the next island and hop on to send Link to the next level. You will need to repeat this one more time before coming to and island with large cubes all around. You goal here is to launch them into the hole of the orb. This is easier than it looks, turn the wheel to line-up the launcher with the hole. Once this is done, grab a cube and wait to see if it goes in the hole. There is a platform with a Construct you can hit.

After you hit it the first time though, it will be gone. Once the cube goes in, send Link flying after it and glide into the hole. You will want to use "Ultrahand" iconUltrahand to drop the Cube on the switch in the center of the room. This will cause the orb to start rotating and seemingly trap you inside. Climb up on top of one of the room’s pillars and use "Ascend" iconAscend to escape. You will now need to move around the orb from the outside as it spins. When you see the opening on the bottom of the orb hurry inside. This may take a few tries, so glide back to the island with the launcher as needed. Once you finally manage to get inside the hole you will find the chest containing the Zonaite Shins, this will complete your set and when it’s worn your battery will fare better when using Zonaite devices.

(1 of 4) Use the launchers to climb up the islands.
