The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

How to Activate Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower

By
Nathan Garvin

This page will provide a walkthrough for the "Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower" iconEldin Canyon Skyview Tower in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. You’ll find towers scattered throughout Hyrule, and aside from being striking landmarks that can help you navigate the world (just look out for the four guide lights on the corner - you can spot them from quite a distance!), they’re also useful as fast travel locations and for arguably their primary purpose - unveiling obfuscated map regions. Enter a tower, interact with the terminal, and you’ll be propelled into the sky, from which vantage Link will survey the land around him.

The first tower you claim is a simple, story-driven affair, but later towers are often puzzles, requiring you to figure out how to get inside or where to find a nearby character capable of getting the tower functional again. Since exploring a region before dispelling the fog of war on the map makes it much easier to navigate, you’ll want to seek out towers and complete them before you start exploring a region in earnest.

The Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower can be found along the southern edge of the Eldin Canyon region.

Where to find the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower in Tears of the Kingdom

The "Eldin Canyon" iconEldin Canyon Skyview Tower is a good ways northeast of "Lookout Landing" iconLookout Landing, you’ll have to trek fairly far afield to find it, crossing a river and climbing some mountains. If you want to clear the way there, you’ll need to complete the "Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower" iconSahasra Slope Skyview Tower first - not a prerequisite, but it will ensure there’s nothing obscured between "Central Hyrule" iconCentral Hyrule and Eldin, the latter being the region the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower will reveal.

How to Complete the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower in Tears of the Kingdom

Once you climb the mountain on which this tower is perched, head up to the door to find Sawson standing outside. As usual, there’s a problem: the door is closed but the roof is open, and unless somebody can get that door open, Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower is little more than a landmark.

From the door to the tower, head west to a cliff and look down to find a gray rock platform below you. Glide down there and wait for some ensorcelled rocks to fall from the sky onto the platform. When one does, run over to it, climb atop it, and use your "Recall" iconRecall power to rewind the rock, causing it to shoot back up into the sky - hopefully with Link on top. Look over to the tower and when you’re comfortably above it, jump and glide over to the roof of the tower.

When you’re ready, jump down into the hole on the top of the tower and glide/dive down to the tower’s interior - as long as you have enough Stamina left to avoid becoming a splatter on the floor. Once inside, interact with the "Terminal" iconTerminal to open the door, after which Sawson will chatter at you. With that done, just interact with the launch platform to send yourself skyward, unlocking this tower as a fast travel location and unveiling the map for the surrounding area.
