The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

How to Complete The South Hyrule Sky Crystal Shrine Quest

By
Jarrod Garripoli

You will discover a lot of Shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, some of which will require you to complete a quest before they unlock. One such shrine is the Jinodok Shrine, which is located in the Sky. This page will detail how to reach the shrine, as well as how to complete The South Hyrule Sky Crystal shrine quest.

You’ll have to do this shrine quest to open up Jinodok Shrine.

Where to Find the Jinodok Shrine in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The "Jinodok Shrine" iconJinodok Shrine is located in "Central Hyrule" iconCentral Hyrule Sky, on the usual cross-shaped island that a lot of other shrines are found in the Sky. To get to it, you will need to do a little bit of extra legwork, starting with the Hyrule Field Skyview Tower. Launch yourself from there and land on the island to the south, with the tower on it and pool of water. There will be one of those large, floating platforms on the one side, with two Rockets nearby. Attach one to the platform, so it is facing to the southwestern island.

(1 of 5) Land on this island after launching from the tower.

Once you get on that island, look for the Construct on another floating platform, and get rid of it. This time, you will be using the !Rocket to go straight into the air. Jump off and glide to the island you see, with the tree root coming out of the bottom of it. There will be another Construct here, on yet another floating platform. Use the !Rocket there to go straight up once more, where you can glide to the island with the two large pools of water. There will be chests in the two pools, but you’ll have to drain the water from them first, if you want the contents of said chests.

You will basically need to get two logs from the trees, fuse them together with "Ultrahand" iconUltrahand, then place them on the holders protruding from the arches. From there, you use Ultrahand to raise the gate and attach it to the logs, keeping the gate in place to drain the water and reach the chests (as well as a score of "Ancient Arowana" iconAncient Arowana fish). The first chest contains a "Sage's Will" iconSage’s Will, while the second is holding a "Magic Rod" iconMagic Rod. With that out of the way, the upper part of the island will have a Wing, along with two Fans near it. Place the fans on the wing, put the constructed wing on the track and activate the makeshift vehicle.

(1 of 3) Use the logs on the island to create something for the sluice gate.

You should now be carried over to the island with the Jinodok Shrine on it, as well as a Zonai device dispenser. When you’re ready, activate the shrine to trigger the start of this Shrine Quest.

Where to Find the Crystal for The South Hyrule Sky Crystal Shrine Quest

Whenever you activate the shrine and start the quest, you will notice that the laser that appears, is pointing to the nearby island. However, there is a pretty big gap between them, so even if you can get over to the crystal, you won’t really have a way to bring it back. However, there is some kind of contraption that you can use Ultrahand on, which will actually turn the little island in the middle, with the arch on it. So, the idea here is to turn that island to have the walkway matching up to the island with the crystal.

(1 of 4) This switch can be used to rotate the middle island.

From there, you can glide over to the middle island, climb up and grab the crystal. Once you have the crystal on the middle portion, glide back over to the switch, and turn it so the walkway is lined up with the island with the shrine. You should now have a clear path to carry the crystal the rest of the way to the shrine. Head inside the shrine, open the chest for a "Diamond" iconDiamond, then go to the altar to grab your "Light of Blessing" iconLight of Blessing.
