The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

How to Activate Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower

By
Nathan Garvin

You’ll find towers scattered throughout Hyrule, and aside from being striking landmarks that can help you navigate the world (just look out for the four guide lights on the corner - you can spot them from quite a distance!), they’re also useful as fast travel locations and for arguably their primary purpose - unveiling obfuscated map regions. Enter a tower, interact with the terminal, and you’ll be propelled into the sky, from which vantage Link will survey the land around him. The first tower you claim is a simple, story-driven affair, but later towers are often puzzles, requiring you to figure out how to get inside or where to find a nearby character capable of getting the tower functional again. Since exploring a region before dispelling the fog of war on the map makes it much easier to navigate, you’ll want to seek out towers and complete them before you start exploring a region in earnest. This page will provide a walkthrough for Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower can be found in the Akkala Highlands region, in the northeastern end of Hyrule.

Where to find Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower in Tears of the Kingdom

In the northeastern corner of Hyrule lies Akkala, and in the middle of the Akkala Highlands subregion you’ll find the "Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower" iconUlri Mountain Skyview Tower. Since this tower is particularly far afield, you’ll probably want to capture Upland Zorana Skyview Tower, which you can use to cover at least a bit of ground towards this tower. Be wary of a pack of "Black Bokoblin" iconBlack Bokoblins that cap a short distance west of the Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower, who will complicate matters if they’re roused to action.

(1 of 4) Talk to Sawson and he’ll complain about a thieving Aerocluda who made off with the tower’s terminal.

How to Complete Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower in Tears of the Kingdom

When you arrive you’ll find Sawson peering around the corner of the tower. Talk to him and he’ll explain the current complication - a beastie snatched the tower’s terminal and flew off with it! Obviously without the terminal, you’re not using this tower, but fortunately the terminal-snatching terror - nothing more than a humble Aerocluda - can be found circling around just east of the tower… presumably so it can flaunt its purloined prize in front of the hapless Sawson.

Link is made of sterner stuff than Sawson, however, and it’ll likely only take one arrow to down this kleptomaniac Aerocluda. While the Aerocluda is dumb enough to linger near the scene of its crime, it’s wily enough to realize that Link is a threat. If the Aerocluda spots Link, it’ll increase the elevation at which it flies to make itself a harder target, so try to sneak to the back of the tower and quickly shoot the Aerocluda before it can scamper to the relative safety of higher altitude. If it spots you, just head into the tower and wait for it to lose track of you, then try again.

When you shoot the Aerocluda out of the sky it’ll drop the stolen terminal. You can inform Sawson, you can even drag the terminal back and set it in front of him, but in both instances Sawson will ask you to do more, so spare yourself the bother, grab the terminal, and set it in its proper place in the tower. Once done, Sawson should talk to you and thank you for doing his job for him. Again.

In any event, you can now launch yourself with the tower and survey the area.
