The Great Tumbleweed Purge Walkthrough - Zelda Tears of The Kingdom

By
Jessica Dillon

If you’re looking for a fun quest, then you should head to Gerudo Canyon. You can find The Great Tumbleweed Purge tucked away at the bottom part of the map. This easy, and unique quest is easy to miss if you don’t know where to look. The guide below goes over how to find The Great Tumbleweed Purge and how to get all the Tumbleweeds out of the dump for Barles.

You can start the Great Tumbleweed Purge by speaking to Barles near Oseira Plains.

How to Get Rid of All The Tumbleweeds For Barles

The Great Tumbleweed Purge is an easy quest to miss as it’s near the bottom of the map near the edge of the Gerudo region. You can find the quest directly above Oseira Plains, to the east. Once there you will see a Hyrulian garbage dump and an NPC named Barles who has set up a tent. When you speak with her she complains about the abundance of tumbleweeds that are in the area. To complete the quest, you have to clear the dump of all the tumbleweeds, which is quite the task.

(1 of 4) You can see the Tumbleweeds from the sky.

There are a few different ways to go about this. Around the dump are Zonai Fans that you can use to blow them off the nearby cliff, or you can choose to round them all up using "Ultrahand" iconUltrahand and drop them off the cliff yourself. One of the easiest ways to get rid of them is by using a "Fire Fruit" iconFire Fruit on your arrows to catch them on fire. Any tumbleweeds that are touching will catch fire, so you can burn several tumbleweeds at the same time. Once you have all the tumbleweeds moved out of the area, Barles will take notice, and a cutscene will play where she thanks you. She will give you a "Royal Shield" iconRoyal Shield for completing the quest.
