This page details an overview of Discovery Sites and Learnings in the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Discovery Tour.
What Are Discovery Sites & Learnings?
As you progress through the narrative quests of the discovery tour in Valhalla, you’ll encounter numerous Discovery Sites located throughout the world. These will be shown both on your map and your compass as gold icons, in the same way that Wealth locations are shown as gold icons in the main game.
The more Discovery Sites and Learnings that you read and unlock, the more rewards you’ll earn in terms of new playable characters such as Basim, Soma, a young Sigurd, and even deities such as Odin, Freyja, and Thor. As you complete each quest in the Discovery Tour, you’ll also unlock unique rewards such as an armor set, a sword, tattoos, raven companion, a mount, a settlement pack and a ship pack, all of which can be used in the main game.
Discovery Sites & Learnings Overview
When you interact with a Discovery Site, the information associated with it will be logged as a new “Learning” entry in the Codex. You can return to these Learnings at any time to read the content and view the images associated with them. The Learnings in the Codex are separated into eight different categories, as follows:
|War & Politics||32|
|Religion & Magic||22|
|Myths & Legends||25|
|Law & Justice||8|
|Art & Culture||8|
|Trade & Economy||12|
The above categories provide an indication of the type of information that you can expect to find in them, but they may also contain brief descriptions of specific characters which are introduced to you throughout the tour. The Discovery Sites that you encounter throughout the world are usually found in places where a demonstration of the thing being presented can be found in game, bringing the tour to life in some way. You can think of the Learnings as an elaboration on those themes, often providing real-world illustrative examples of what is being discussed, such as real pictures of materials that are preserved in museums throughout the world.
