This mystery can be found in the northeast of Suthsexe, at Tuicca’s Farm. As the name implies, you’ll be fighting a legendary animal known as Aelfred’s Battle-Sow. You’ll also be fighting five bulls alongside it, but these don’t become active until you’ve taken about a quarter of the health from the Battle-Sow.
How to Defeat Aelfred’s Battle-Sow
The Battle-Sow has three weak points: one on its right hind leg, one on its left hind leg, and one on its left front leg. Try to flank the animal to hit these as soon as possible. You can then execute a stun attack for a large amount of damage.
Although you’re greatly outnumbered, each of the bulls, including the Battle-Sow, is fairly slow and predictable. You’ll know when the other five bulls join the fight more actively, since they’ll roar collectively and begin to run around the field. At this point you’ll need to keep an eye on each of them and pay attention to when they initiate a charge. Most of the time a charge will be indicated by an orange aura, so you’ll have a visual warning.
Once you’ve killed all the bulls and hit the weak points on the Battle-Sow, it will just be a matter of grinding the remaining health down. A weapon with long reach such as a spear or two-handed axe / sword will be useful, but dual-wielding fast weapons such as daggers is just as effective if you’re confident in your ability to dodge out of the way of any sudden attacks.
Aside from the headbutt attack described above, the only other special attack that the Battle-Sow uses is a charge. This can be easily avoided with a simple dodge or roll, so it shouldn’t cause you much trouble. If you’re struggling to hit the animal, try waiting for it to attack and then dodge. If you have the Brush with Death skill, time will slow after each successful dodge, giving you plenty of time to flank and attack the Battle-Sow.
With the amount of space for you to move in and the slow nature of your opponent, this should prove to be one of the easier legendary animal fights that you’ll encounter.
