O Yan Do' Ne

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

The legendary animal O Yan Do’ Ne is found east of Kahrhaken:rat in Vinland.

Location: O Yan Do’ Ne mystery.

How to Fight the O Yan Do’ Ne

O Yan Do’ Ne is a large moose that will frequently charge at you and buck his hind legs. Since he’s a legendary animal found in Vinland you’ll not have all of your usual gear. So before you decide to take on this moose, you may want to first trade for some armor and weapons with the indigenous tribes. This is a tough fight but it can be done with just the club, which is the cheapest weapon available from the traders. However, if you really struggle with the fight, you may want to first collect some leather, carbon ingots and iron ore to upgrade your weapons and armor so that you’re better equipped.

You’ll find that he often runs away from you to then charge full force at you to either throw you up into the air or kick up dirt at you. Either thing will damage you a fair bit so you’ll want to dodge out of the way if you can. If you try to attack him from behind, you’ll run the risk of being bucked by his hind legs, which may also trigger him to kick you across the lair area. Essentially, dodging is your best tool in this fight as his headbutts, antler swings and bucking are all pretty brutal especially if you haven’t upgraded your gear. This is especially crucial after you’ve damaged around half of his health as his moves become rapid and crazy and you’ll find it harder to get in attacks and may be more likely to fail dodges.

This legendary animal does not yield a trophy that you can take back to the hunters in Ravensthorpe. Instead, you’ll get +175 leather and +2 Skill Points.

(1 of 3) Watch out for his headbutts and antler swings.
